Remembering my Dad
As a child my dad was my greatest hero and there is not a day that goes by when I do not miss my dad. I sit in my office and remember stories of growing up and things my dad would do with us kids. Including taking my brother and I to the park when my mom would stay home. We would play on the Swings and Merry Go Round. Walking home we always stopped by the Corner Store for a Big Red we all shared. Or Sunday Picnics with the whole family heading to the Lake. With Bologna Sandwiches and Chocolate Milk to share. I am conducting a review for Chicken Soup for the Soul as I received Chicken Soup for the Soul: Living with Alzheimer’s & Other Dementias: 101 Stories of Caregiving, Coping, and Compassion in exchange for a review although the thoughts in the report are all mine and mine alone. As a child, I remember growing up and my grandfather was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and ending up in a Nursing Home. Once this happened my grandfather didn’t recognize anyone.
