Remembering my Dad

As a child my dad was my greatest hero and there is not a day that goes by when I do not miss my dad. I sit in my office and remember stories of growing up and things my dad would do with us kids. Including taking my brother and I to the park when my mom would stay home. We would play on the Swings and Merry Go Round.

Walking home we always stopped by the Corner Store for a Big Red we all shared. Or Sunday Picnics with the whole family heading to the Lake. With Bologna Sandwiches and Chocolate Milk to share. There doesn’t seem to ever be a argument or fighting because we had to share.

As I got older there was one chair in the house which we all knew this chair was my dad’s chair. My dad always said when he passed away, he wanted to be stuffed and sat in the chair with a can of Beer in one hand and a Cigarette in the other.

By the time my dad passed the chair was long gone. My dad didn’t drink or smoke anymore. We cremated my dad which was his wishes. My brother has his ashes which were going to spread with his brothers on his parents grave sometime this year. If things return to normal.

One day I was in Hobby Lobby walking around. I walked by a Candle called Grandpa’s Chair Candle Tin | Hobby Lobby. I just stood in the store holding the candle as memories flooded over me. With Father’s Day around the corner, I want to purchase this candle for me, my sister and my brother. Then we will always have a piece of my dad with each of us.

Reminisce with the nostalgic combination of old books and cherry pipes. Grandpa’s Chair Candle Tin is perfect for tabletops, desks, counters, and more! It features white wax, a brown wrapper, and an easy pop-off lid. Illuminate your senses with daring scents and create a delightfully fragrant ambiance!

A sweet way to remember your dad. I lost my father when I was 12 years old. I think of him and my mother all the time. Precious memories.
