Four holiday cocktails, four ghostly encounters, and a 90-minute trip into the world of Charles Dickens are coming to Fort Worth this December.
I was getting ready to sit down and work, I found myself scrolling through Facebook while waiting for a phone call from Charlie. He had taken his first road trip, and I was waiting to hear that he had made it safely to his destination. You know how it is when you’re a mom. Even when your children are growing up, you still want to hear that they made it there safely!
While I was online, I came across a new event coming to Fort Worth called A Christmas Carol Cocktail Experience. The first person who came to mind was David. I thought this might be something he would really enjoy. But the more I looked at the event the more I got drug down the Rabbitt Hole again as I discovered new events and businesses to check out which is a Godsend when building your own business.
For anyone who know me they know I’m an avid reader, and Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol is one of those timeless stories that has been enjoyed in books, movies, and countless holiday productions. David has watched the movie with me before, so I thought it might be fun for us to experience a different interpretation of a story we already know.
As Charlie gets older I want to make as many memories with him and David as I can. I’ve been thinking differently about Christmas gifts. Instead of concentrating so much on things we can unwrap, I want to give our family experiences. I want us to go places, try new things, laugh together, and make memories that will last a lifetime. Because one thing life has taught me is that we never know what tomorrow will bring. The time we have together is precious, and I want to make the most of it.
Of course, when I saw the ticket price, I had to stop and think for a moment. Could I really afford to take David? But you know what? I’m not going to let that question stop me from dreaming about the possibilities. I’m going to place it in the Lord’s hands. If it’s His will for us to go, I believe He will make a way for us to have the money. And if it doesn’t work out, that’s okay, too. It doesn’t mean we can’t make wonderful Christmas memories right here at home.
In the meantime, I wanted to share this discovery with all of you. Take a look at this unique Fort Worth holiday experience, and when you do, come back and tell me what you think. Would you go? Which cocktail sounds the most interesting? And who would you take along? Now, let’s take a closer look at what makes this Christmas experience a little different from the traditional holiday outing.
A Christmas Carol with a Gothic Twist– is produced by Midnight Creative, the company behind the touring Edgar Allan Poe Speakeasy and Serial Killer Speakeasy, this 90-minute experience combines immersive theater, storytelling, and a four-drink tasting experience. I could see David wanting to attend both events and as for me I could do Edgar Allen Poe but the Serial Killer Speakeasy I’m not so sure about. If I went I might never sleep again. How about you?
Guests will follow Ebenezer Scrooge through four scenes, each paired with its own holiday-themed cocktail. The performance brings Scrooge, Marley, and the three spirits of Christmas to life in a Victorian-inspired setting. I love that it brings a Victorain setting to the event.
The evening’s four scenes and drinks include:
- Scene 1: A Ghostly Intro of Ebenezer Scrooge — Ebenezer’s Bitter Awakening
- Scene 2: Ghost of Christmas Past — Past, Present, and Punch
- Scene 3: Ghost of Christmas Present — Ghostly Gold Cider
- Scene 4: Ghost of Christmas Future — Marley’s Marshmallow Martini
Each drink has its own personality, with flavors and garnishes designed to complement the scene. Mocktails are available upon request, although guests must still meet the event’s age requirement. Most likely I would have a Mocktail but the Ghost of Christmas Par- Past, Present, and Punch sounds good to me why I could see David having Ghosts of Christmas Present Ghostly Gold Cider and if Suzzane was here she would have liked Marley’s Mashmallow Martini which is pink and has pink hearts. How about you. Which drink would you like to have and why?
