More Than a Wedding Venue: Discover WED Spaces in Fort Worth

Sometimes spending a little time on Facebook leads you somewhere you never expected although for me more times than not it takes me down the Rabbit Hole and that is okay to. Because today one Christmas discovery introduced me to a Fort Worth business I might never have known existed.

This morning, while I was looking around Facebook and getting ready to sit down and work, I came across something that caught my attention: an event called A Christmas Carol Cocktail Experience coming to Fort Worth. As I started looking into the event, I discovered it was being hosted at a venue called WED Spaces in Fort Worth.

Now, I’ll be honest. I had never heard of WED Spaces before. If I hadn’t taken the time to click on that Christmas event, explore the details, and step outside my comfort zone to see what else was out there, I might never have discovered this business. And that got me thinking about something I want to share with all of you.

Sometimes people think spending time on Facebook is just wasting time. But I don’t always see it that way. Sometimes Facebook is networking. It’s discovering businesses, meeting people, building relationships, finding potential clients, developing article ideas, and discovering opportunities you might otherwise miss.

As a blogger and small-business publisher, I never know where the next story might come from. Sometimes it starts with a conversation. Sometimes it’s a post someone shares. And sometimes, like today, it’s an event that catches my eye and leads me to a completely different business.

I originally started looking at A Christmas Carol Cocktail Experience because I thought it might be something David would enjoy for Christmas. But along the way, I discovered WED Spaces, a Fort Worth venue that offers so much more than I initially expected.

That’s why today I wanted to introduce you to WED Spaces. As you explore the business with me, you’ll discover that it isn’t simply a place to hold a wedding. Which is a Godsend for me because I’m not so sure Charlie will get married so I may not need to hold a wedding but it offers spaces for all kinds of celebrations, gatherings, and special occasions.

So I could host a Networking Event here one day. God willing and the Creek don’t rise. So, let’s take a closer look at this Fort Worth business I might never have discovered if I hadn’t spent a little time exploring Facebook! Then help me convince David we need to go check it out please.

When I first discovered WED Spaces, I honestly didn’t know much about the business. I had come across the venue while researching the Christmas Carol Cocktail Experience and wanted to learn more about the place hosting the event. As I spent more time exploring their website for this feature, I finally took the time to read their About page. And I’m glad I did because I discovered something I hadn’t known before. WED Spaces was created through a partnership between two families!

Stephanie and Crystal, owners of Wedding Event Design (WED), brought their award-winning event planning experience to the partnership. They joined Deshmon and Alexis, owners of D Reed and Associates, who brought their backgrounds in education and accounting.

Together, these two families shared a vision of creating an affordable event venue that would welcome everyone. I don’t know about you but I love discovering the people and stories behind the businesses I feature. Sometimes we’re so busy looking at what a company offers that we forget to stop and learn about the people who made it possible.

That’s another reason I enjoy doing these features. There’s always something new to discover when we take the time to look a little deeper! Located near the heart of Fort Worth, just blocks from Magnolia Street and minutes from downtown, WED Spaces is housed in a historic building. Which I would enjoy checking out.

The owners describe their vision as blending the past with the present. They want guests to feel as though they’ve stepped into another time while still enjoying the modern amenities expected at an event venue. As I explored the website, I noticed features such as exposed brick walls, windows that bring in natural light, crystal chandeliers I wish I had, and spaces that can be arranged for different occasions. And I appreciate that the venue isn’t designed for just one type of celebration. Their vision includes couples exchanging vows, businesses hosting conferences, and families gathering to celebrate life’s milestones.

Three Spaces, Lots of Possibilities– WED Spaces offers three individual spaces, along with the option to rent the entire venue.

Whether you’re celebrating a milestone with family or bringing people together for a business event, WED Spaces offers several ways to arrange a gathering. Another helpful feature is the venue’s open vendor policy. WED Spaces allows clients to choose their own licensed catering company.

The venue also lists tables and chairs, a catering preparation kitchen, free parking, Wi-Fi, and an event host among its amenities. Additional items such as linens, floral arrangements, décor, backdrops, balloons, audio-visual equipment, and furniture rentals may be available for an additional cost.

If you’re planning to serve alcoholic beverages, WED Spaces requires the alcohol to be served by a TABC-certified bartender. Event security is also required through the venue when alcohol is served. Be sure to ask about these requirements and any additional costs when requesting your proposal.

What Does It Cost to Rent WED Spaces?

I always appreciate when a business provides pricing information on its website because it gives people a starting point when planning an event. WED Spaces currently lists the following hourly rental rates:

SpaceHourly rate
Grand Space$400
Loft Space$300
Studio Space$200
Entire venue$500

Each rental has a four-hour minimum. There is also a one-time $300 essential services fee covering the venue host, cleaning, and parking attendant. If alcohol is served, mandatory event security is listed at $75 per hour for the duration of the event.

Other optional rentals and services may cost extra. Linens, for example, are not included in the rental price. The website lists ivory and black floor-length linens for $20 each, with additional colors starting at $25. These are the rates published on the venue’s website at the time of writing. Contact WED Spaces for a current proposal and to confirm the total cost for your event.

How to Book a Tour– If you’re considering WED Spaces for an upcoming celebration, the venue recommends starting with a tour.

The booking process is:

  1. Schedule a tour. Visit the website to check availability and arrange a time to see the venue.
  2. Request a proposal. After your tour, provide your event information so the team can prepare a proposal.
  3. Sign the contract and pay the deposit. The website states that a nonrefundable 50% deposit is required to secure your date.

The remaining payment is due 30 days before the event.

Tours and site visits are available by appointment. Setup and breakdown time should also be included when calculating the hours you need to rent the space.

You can learn more about the venue, explore the individual spaces, view photographs, and contact the team through its website.

I started my morning looking for something David might enjoy doing for Christmas. I wasn’t searching for an event venue, researching wedding locations, or looking for another Fort Worth business to feature. But that’s the wonderful thing about getting outside your comfort zone and taking the time to explore.

One discovery can lead to another. One Facebook post can introduce you to a business you didn’t know existed. And one story can turn into an opportunity to share something useful with your readers. I also learned something about WED Spaces that I hadn’t known when I first found them: two families came together to create this business, each bringing their own experience and talents to the table.

I hope you’ll take a few minutes to explore their website and learn more about what they offer. Now I’d like to hear from you!

Have you heard of WED Spaces before? Have you attended an event there? If you were planning a celebration, which of their spaces would you choose? And remember, the next time you think you’re wasting time looking around Facebook, you might just discover your next favorite local business, a new connection, or even your next article idea!

Grateful. Thankful. Blessed.
