What If I Was a Country Music Star

It seems like it’s been forever since I’ve sat down and written a blog post. Which is why I decided to hide for five minutes and see if I could at least get one blog post up before someone needs or wants something from me.

I’m excited to being you another installment of our “What If I Was?” series! One of the reasons I love doing this series is because I let ChatGPT pick the questions. I don’t decide ahead of time what we’re going to explore. I ask ChatGPT the question, and then I get to see what it comes up with.

And sometimes the answers surprise me because they come up with the answers based on things it has learned from me by working with me on different projects. Sometimes I completely agree. And sometimes I think, “Okay, ChatGPT… I’m going to have to think about that one!” 😂 So today’s question is:

What If I Was a Country Music Star? This time, we’re going to find out which country music stars ChatGPT thinks would represent the people in my family. This question fits us to a T because my entire family has listened to Country Music all of our lives.

Come and join me as were going to start with my immediate family. And we’re beginning with David because he is the head of our family and the main breadwinner and he deserves to go first.

David — When I asked ChatGPT which country music star David would be, it picked George Straight because he’s steady, traditional, dependable, and doesn’t need to be the loudest person in the room. There is a quiet strength about him.

George Strait has always had that calm, confident country presence. He doesn’t have to be flashy or constantly demand attention. There’s something genuine and grounded about him. And ChatGPT sees that same quality in David.

David can be quiet and laid-back, but that doesn’t mean he’s not paying attention. There’s a steadiness about him, and he has his own way of looking at things. So, according to ChatGPT, George Strait is David.

Now, Here’s I have to admit, when ChatGPT explained it that way, I could absolutely see it. But if you had asked me before I asked ChatGPT, I probably would have picked Waylon Jennings. Or maybe Willie Nelson. But if I had to choose between those two, I’d go with Waylon.

David has that long-haired, take-no-prisoners kind of persona. He’s independent, he has his own way of doing things, and he isn’t necessarily interested in following the crowd just because everybody else is doing it.

And there’s that little bit of an outlaw-country spirit in him, too. David has always enjoyed a little bit of his smoke, and a drink or two or even three at times even though he doesn’t smoke anymore, and when I think about that whole Waylon Jennings attitude, I can see David.

So ChatGPT sees George Strait. I see Waylon Jennings. And maybe that’s what makes this series so much fun. Now my question is did ChatGPT pick the right person for David or do you think there is someone better who matches David and why?

Glenda — ChatGPT had to decide which country music star I would be. And this one honestly surprised me. ChatGPT picked Dolly Parton. Before I share ChatGPT’s answer with you Dolly Parton wasn’t necessarily the first person I would have picked for myself, but then ChatGPT explained why.

It said Dolly has that combination of storytelling, family, heart, humor, hard work, and entrepreneurship. And the more I thought about it, the more I could see it. Not only she is a little top-heave and so am I.

Dolly is a storyteller, and I love telling stories. She has a way of taking everyday experiences and turning them into something people remember. Family is also a huge part of who Dolly is, and family is a huge part of who I am.

Then there’s the humor. If you know me, you know I can find something funny just about anywhere. Pull up a chair and I will share a story or two with you and before you finish your Sweet Tea you will be laughing out loud at the things I share with you.

ChatGPT also pointed out that Dolly is hardworking and an entrepreneur. She didn’t just become successful as a country singer. She built businesses, created opportunities, and turned her ideas into something much bigger.

And then there’s her love of reading and what she has done to encourage children to read. That one really hit home with me. ChatGPT also said Dolly has a way of doing something good even when life gets difficult. And that may be one of the things I like most about the comparison.

Life isn’t always easy. But there is something special about people who can go through difficult times and still find a way to create something good, encourage someone else, or make somebody smile. That is what I try to do on a daily basis.

Do you think ChatGPT picked out the best person for me or is there another Country Music star you would have picked and why?

Now, Here’s Glenda’s Thought: Would Dolly Parton have been my first choice? Probably not. But after hearing ChatGPT’s reasoning, I can absolutely see why it picked her. And being compared to Dolly Parton isn’t exactly a bad thing!

I can see the storyteller in both of us. I can see the family heart, the humor, the hard work, the entrepreneurial spirit, and the love of reading. So I’m going to give ChatGPT this one. Dolly Parton works.

Charlie — ChatGPT Picked Morgan Wallen– When I asked ChatGPT which country music star Charlie would be, it picked Morgan Wallen. And I have to admit, I had to think about this one because Morgan Wallen isn’t somebody I know a whole lot about.

But ChatGPT wasn’t necessarily matching Charlie to Morgan Wallen because of the music itself. It was looking at Charlie’s generation, independence, entrepreneurial spirit, unconventional personality, and tendency to do things his own way.

ChatGPT said Charlie feels like a younger-generation country star with a modern country-rock edge. And that part? I can definitely see. Charlie isn’t necessarily the traditional country-music type.

He’s more of a younger-generation guy, and his musical interests can run more toward rap and other modern sounds. But the personality comparison makes sense. Charlie is independent. He’s entrepreneurial. He’s willing to do things differently. And he definitely doesn’t always follow the traditional path. That’s what ChatGPT saw when it picked Morgan Wallen.

Here’s Glenda’s Thought– I didn’t know enough about Morgan Wallen to say immediately, “Yep, that’s Charlie!” So I’m going to have to do a little homework and listen to some of his music.

But when ChatGPT explained the personality side of the choice, I could see it. Charlie definitely has that “I’ll figure it out myself” attitude. He’s independent, he’s entrepreneurial, he’s unconventional, and he’s comfortable doing things his own way.

And that modern country-rock edge? Yeah. That’s Charlie. So I’ll give ChatGPT credit on this one, too. Now I just need to learn a little more about Morgan Wallen which is a #teachingmoment for my family! If we had been #Homeschooling would have been someone we could have studied in our music class and you can do the same.

Do you think ChatGPT got Charlie right?

Suzanne — I asked ChatGPT which country music star it would choose for Suzanne, and ChatGPT picked Faith Hill fits Suzanne because of the combination of beauty, femininity, warmth, and strength.

There is a softness to Faith Hill, but she isn’t weak. She’s beautiful, feminine, warm, and graceful, but there is an inner strength underneath all of that. And that is what ChatGPT saw in Suzanne.

Because Suzanne was so young, ChatGPT didn’t want to make this comparison about everything she might have become years later. I want to remember the person she was—the beauty, the warmth, the strength, and that sense that there was still so much of her story ahead of her.

Now, Here’s Glenda’s Thought- I can absolutely see why ChatGPT picked Faith Hill for Suzanne she was beautiful. She can be feminine and warm while still being strong. She isn’t weak.

And then there’s the family connection to Tim McGraw, because my nephew absolutely loves Tim McGraw. And you can’t talk about Tim McGraw around me without me thinking about “Don’t Take the Girl.”

Suzanne and I could have set up our own little singing group. We could have sung some Tim McGraw, thrown in a little Willie Nelson’s “On the Road Again,” and I would have been right there singing along.

But if I had been making the choice myself? I probably would have picked Miranda Lambert. And there’s a very personal reason for that. Suzanne’s heart has always been in Oklahoma even though we live in Texas.

My dad lived there, and eventually my mom and my brother. Suzanne always wanted to go live there. She had dreams of going back after her experiences in the Army, where she wanted to work as a kitchen cook like her Uncle Chuck. Then she moved on, went to OU, and wanted to become a kindergarten teacher.

So when I think of Miranda Lambert and her connection to Oklahoma, I can see Suzanne there. There’s something about Miranda that gives me the combination of beauty, independence, strength, femininity, and a little bit of fire that reminds me of Suzanne.

And I’ll admit, another country star I could have picked for Suzanne is Gretchen Wilson. Why? Because Suzanne wasn’t going to take crap off of anybody. That’s another side of her personality that I can see in Gretchen Wilson.

So ChatGPT picked Faith Hill. I might have picked Miranda Lambert. And Gretchen Wilson could have made the list, too. But I can absolutely understand why ChatGPT saw Faith Hill when it thought about Suzanne.

What do you think did ChatGPT pick the right person or is there someone else she should have been and why?

So there we have it: Part A: Our Immediate Family. ChatGPT’s country music choices for our immediate family are: David — George Strait, Glenda — Dolly Parton, Charlie — Morgan Wallen and Suzanne — Faith Hill And my choices aren’t always the same.

For David, I see Waylon Jennings. For me, Dolly actually surprised me—but the more ChatGPT explained it, the more I agreed. For Charlie, I’m still going to have to learn more about Morgan Wallen, but I can definitely see the personality match.

And for Suzanne, I can see Faith Hill, but my heart keeps pulling me toward Miranda Lambert, with a little Gretchen Wilson thrown in for good measure. And that’s exactly why I love this series.

ChatGPT gives me its answer. Then I get to tell you what I think. And now… What Do You Think? If you know us, did ChatGPT get it right? Would you have picked George Strait for David?
