This week I’ve been able to connect and visit with my best friend Debbie because of the cooler weather which Fall has a way of bringing all kinds of things together. We’ve got football games to watch, pumpkins to admire, and those beautiful autumn days when we want to slow down and enjoy the season. And sometimes, the best way to enjoy a little fall magic is with a good romance novel!
Here at Greatful Moments, I’m keeping this reading list short and sweet. Instead of giving you a long list of books to sort through, I’ve picked three seasonal romance possibilities: one for autumn, one for football fans, and one for pumpkin-patch lovers. So grab your favorite drink, find a comfortable spot, and let’s see which story might belong on your fall reading list.
Since both Debbie and I spend a lot of time at home by ourselves were going to start having lunch together virtually a couple times a week and start a Book Club and this is where these Fall books will be coming into place. Would you want to join us for lunch and our book clue. We would love to have you.
1. Autumn Romance: If It Makes You Happy; A Cozy Fall Romance by Julie Olivia. This is the perfect book if your idea of a perfect fall day includes a cozy blanket, changing leaves, and a small-town romance, this book is worth a look.
Set in autumn 1997 in a small Vermont town, Julie Olivia’s If It Makes You Happy brings together Michelle, a recent divorcee who takes over her late mother’s bed and breakfast, and Cliff, a single dad who runs the local bakery. As the two get to know each other, friendship and growing feelings create a slow-burn romance against a beautiful autumn backdrop.
I love the idea of a story that lets us enjoy fall itself, rather than rushing straight into Halloween, Thanksgiving, or Christmas. Sometimes, we need to stop and appreciate the season we’re in. This one is for readers who enjoy small-town settings, second chances, and a little romance with their autumn scenery.
2. The Cheat Sheet: A Novel (The Los Angeles Sharks duology Book 1) by Sarah Adams
Football season and romance? Now that’s a combination for readers who enjoy a little sports excitement with their love stories! I know you might be shaking your head and saying your going to read a book about #Football and the answer is yes because some of those players are hot.
In The Cheat Sheet, Bree Camden is secretly in love with her longtime best friend, Nathan Donelson, an NFL star. Nathan sees Bree as his best friend, and Bree worries that telling him how she really feels could ruin their relationship. Then a very public confession changes things. With the opportunity for a fake relationship on the table, the two must figure out whether their friendship could become something more.
Sarah Adams brings together friendship, unspoken feelings, and a football-star romance in this romantic comedy. If you’re looking for a romance to read while the football games are on, or you need something to enjoy after the final whistle, this could be a fun pick.
3. Pumpkin Romance: Falling at Brew by Brewer: The Collection by Elsie James

Read this series if you love short sweet instalove rom com romances with steamy sex scenes and rugged heroes. Each book can be read as a standalone but don’t do that, okay? I love hiding little Easter eggs from the Brewer world in every story and it makes my heart so happy when people find them! As always this series is safe with no cliffhangers, no cheating, and a guaranteed happily ever after HEA.
Now e have it: one Autumn romance, one football romance, and one pumpkin-patch romance. Three different ways to enjoy the season without adding another enormous reading list to your already busy days. Whether you prefer a cozy small-town love story, a romance involving a football star, or a pumpkin-patch setting, there’s something different about reading a story that fits the time of year.
And remember, you don’t have to finish a book in one sitting. A few pages with your morning coffee or a chapter before bed can be a little gift to yourself.
