Texas Among Top 10 U.S. States Where Midwife Shortages and Preterm Birth Rates are Putting Expecting Mothers at Risk
A new study highlighted that Texas is the sixth-most dangerous state for expecting mothers across the nation. The research conducted by Birth Injury Lawyers Group analyzed midwife shortages and preterm birth rates across all U.S. states. It measured two main metrics: the Average Births to Midwife Ratio 2023 (scored out of 50 points) and the Average Preterm Birth Rates 2018-2022 (scored out of 50 points). These metrics were totaled to rank the states from highest to lowest risk on a 100-point scale, with higher scores indicating greater maternity care concerns. A new study has revealed that Fort Worth is the second best city in Texas for dining out. Commercial furniture manufacturer, Restaurant Furniture.Net, determined the American cities with the best dining experiences by analyzing the percentage of reviews for the top 100 restaurants by Tripadvisor rating in each of America’s 100 most populous cities that were positive and mentioned a restaurant’s atmosphere. A review was positive if it had a rating of at least 2.5, and reviews that included at least one of “atmosphere,” “atmospheric,” “ambience,” “ambiance,” “intimate,” or “cozy” were counted as mentioning a restaurant’s atmosphere. A new study by The Ice Maker Hub reveals America’s favorite cocktails based on search data, with an Old Fashioned topping the list. The research used Google Keyword Planner to analyze the number of monthly searches on a state and national level between August 2024 and July 2025 for cocktails.
