Spelling Words
We weren’t given Spelling Words this week in Charlie’s classroom or Handwriting due to the Labor Day Holiday. This week all Charlie has had is his math worksheet each day. Since Charlie wasn’t given a new Reading log, he thought that meant he didn’t have to read this week. I wasn’t sure about Charlie not reading, so I have been having him read each day and keeping a log he can turn in tomorrow. Even if the teacher doesn’t accept it, Charlie has gotten in reading practice. Which he always need as he struggles with reading. What are Lapbooks? A lapbook, Lakbook, layer book, flap book, or shutter book is a type of single-subject book created by a student, generally as a supplement to a curriculum. A lap book generally consists of a paperboard folder such as a file folder with small pieces of folded paper glued inside.
