I was on Facebook the other day and yes, I was scrolling but I like to believe it was working. Especially when the LORD leads me to a restaurant I didn’t know about in one of my favorite Cities on the Earth. Giving me another reason to return to Denton, Texas for 31 Days of Halloween. Before you ask no, I haven’t had enough of Denton or Halloween.
I think I have found another reason to head back to Denton, Texas, and this time, it might take more than a little convincing to keep me at home. This might just be the reason to get
I think I have found another reason to head back to Denton, Texas, and this time, it might take more than a little convincing to keep me at home. This might just be the reason to get David to consider moving here. Lord willing and the Creek doesn’t rise. Next is Charlie and he can come or stay I don’t care because Denton is calling me.
I don’t know about you but I have a question for you. Do you know how some places catch your eye, and you immediately start imagining yourself there? That’s what happened when somebody mentioned Burger Time Machine on Facebook. I went to look at the restaurant, .
Before I knew it, I was exploring the menu, checking out the pictures, and mentally planning our next family road trip. And then I saw the restaurant itself. That yellow exterior caught my attention. It has the kind of look that makes you think of an old-fashioned car and a place where people might pull up, grab a seat, and spend an afternoon talking over a meal.
Inside, with its retro feel and old-fashioned vending machines, I could practically imagine Fonzie, Potsie, and Ralph Malph walking through the door. You know Mrs. C would be right there making sure everybody had something to eat. And naturally, she’d be reminding them not to forget their vegetables!
Because y’all know how that goes in my house. We can talk about burgers, fries, onion rings, and mushrooms all day long, but somebody still has to declare no, vegetables are. LOL! Grab you things and come with me because I think this is going to be one fun adventure.
Now, Burger Time Machine says its mission in Denton is to serve the biggest burgers in Texas. Well, I know somebody in my house who is going to be very interested in that claim. David loves a good reason to try a restaurant, and the promise of a big burger might be enough to get his attention before I even mention the rest of the menu.
But here’s the funny part. While the restaurant’s giant burgers might be the headline attraction, I’m already thinking about everything else. Homemade French fries. Onion rings. Fried mushrooms. Oh, my! And don’t forget Charlie. Those chicken strips might be just what he needs while the rest of us are debating which burger to try.
The combo meals sound like a practical option for a family like ours, too. Everyone can find something that appeals to them, and we don’t all have to order the same thing. I can already picture us sitting around the table, comparing choices, laughing about the names on the menu, and trying to decide what we should order next time.
Of course, there is still the matter of getting everybody to Denton. I keep telling David that I would love to move there, but so far, I haven’t managed to convince him. So until that miracle happens, I’ll just have to keep finding excuses to visit. Between 31 Days of Halloween, seeing my friend Jennifer, and discovering unusual restaurants, Denton keeps giving me reasons to come back.
And now Burger Time Machine has entered the picture. I haven’t even eaten there yet, and I’m already hungry. Somebody might want to remind me that looking at a restaurant menu isn’t the same as having dinner. Because right now, I’m tempted to forget DoorDash altogether and start planning our next road trip.
David, Charlie, are y’all ready? Because I think the time machine is calling our name! Now, you must check out the menu and all the fun names for the Burgers they have when could have been a fun #Homeschool Lesson when I was teaching Charlie but is still going to be fun to share with my family.
Thank you,
Glenda, Charlie and David Cates
