A Little Spooky, A Little Romantic: The Interactive Halloween Gift Guide

I am excited because #Hallowen is right around the corner and this is one of mine and David’s favorite #Holidays. Although, Charlie is too old to go #TrickorTreating now. Instead we stay home and even though we live in a Townhome no, one ever comes over to Trick or Treat and I miss those times of the little kids showing up all dressed up.

I’m sure Charlie will spend Halloween on his game unless he ventures out with his friends to go hang out at the park. Gerald will be camped out on the couch. David will be in the man-cave watching TV. That leaves me to figure out something to do. I decided I would get Pheobie and we will grab our Halloween blanket, a snack and then we will go sit outside on the balcony to read my book and to watch any famlies leaving to go trick or treating. Would you want to join me?

For me Halloween is one of those times of year when we can have a little fun with our reading. Some folks want witches, magic, and a cozy story. Others want a haunted romance, a small-town love story, or something a little spicier to read after everyone else has gone to bed. And then there are those who would rather sit down with a coloring book and let their creativity take over.

Around here at Greatful Moments, I’m trying to make more time for the little things I enjoy. I’ve spent so much time working on the website that I need to remember to slow down, grab a book, and enjoy a few minutes for myself. With fall here and Halloween coming up, I thought it would be fun to put together a guide for grown-up readers who enjoy a little spooky-season entertainment. Whether you are shopping for yourself, looking for a Halloween gift for a friend, or adding something new to your fall reading list, here are five ideas to explore.

You will find these books inside our Interactive Halloween Gift Guide and these books will be perfect for our 10 Minute Reading Challenge. If you’ve read these books leave me a comment and let me know what you thought of the books and why. Or if there is a Halloween based book you think I should check out leave me a comment and I will check it o

Love’s a Witch: A Cozy Fantasy Romance (The Scottish Charms Series)- by Tricia O’Malley (Author)

This collectible paperback comes with gorgeous sprayed edges while supplies last!

From
New York Times bestselling author Tricia O’Malley, Charmed meets The Pumpkin Spice Café in this cozy romantasy about a witch returning to Scotland to break a family curse—only to clash with one grumpy Scotsman determined to protect his town from her haywire magic.

She’s hexed. He’s vexed. And for Scotland’s most magical small-town, their feud might just spell disaster.

Sloane MacGregor swore she’d never return to Briarhaven, but with her twenty-fifth birthday looming—the day witches come into their magic—her grandmother summons her and her sisters back for one tiny task: break the centuries-old curse haunting their bloodline.

Knox Douglas, Briarhaven’s grumpy mayor, has worked tirelessly to make his town a haven for magical folk. The last thing he needs is a cursed MacGregor wreaking havoc. It doesn’t matter he once crushed on her. For the sake of Briarhaven, Sloane has to go.

But magic has other plans—and in Briarhaven, love really is a witch.

Haunted Ever After — Boneyard Key

Cassie thought Boneyard Key’s ghosts were tourist schtick, until her new home came with one—but can the attentions of the sexy coffee shop owner convince her to stay, instead of ghosting the town?

Small Florida coastal towns often find themselves scrambling for the tourism dollars that the Orlando theme parks leave behind. And within the town limits of Boneyard Key, the residents decided long ago to lean into its ghostliness. Nick Royer, owner of the Hallowed Grounds coffee shop, embraces the ghost tourism that keeps the local economy afloat, as well as his spectral roommate. At least he doesn’t have to run air-conditioning.

Cassie Rutherford possibly overreacted to all her friends getting married and having kids by leaving Orlando and buying a flipped historic cottage in Boneyard Key. Though there’s something unusual with her new home (her laptop won’t charge in any outlets, and the poetry magnets on her fridge definitely didn’t read “WRONG” and “MY HOUSE” when she put them up), she’s charmed by the colorful history surrounding her. And she’s catching a certain vibe from the grumpy coffee shop owner whenever he slips her a free slice of banana bread along with her coffee order.

As Nick takes her on a ghost tour, sharing town gossip that tourists don’t get to hear, and they spend nights side-by-side looking into the former owners of her haunted cottage, their connection solidifies into something very real and enticing. But Cassie’s worried she’s in too deep with this whole (haunted) home ownership thing…and Nick’s afraid to get too close in case Cassie gets scared away for good.

📚 A Little Reading Challenge

I’ve been putting more part into making more time for reading, I would like to set aside at least 10 minutes a day to read. If you have more time, enjoy it! I’m working toward spending 30 minutes a day reading myself, because sometimes we need to put our work aside and enjoy a little quiet time.

For this guide, were also planning a 10-ticket reading activity. Check the official entry instructions provided with the activity before participating so you know exactly how to qualify and enter. Remember to invite your friends and family to come and join in our challenge.

I wanted to remind you Halloween does not have to be all costumes and candy. It can also be a chance to enjoy a good story, find a new author, try something creative, and spend a few peaceful minutes doing something you love. I hope this guide helps you find a little something for your spooky-season reading pile. And remember, whether you choose a witchy romance, a haunted love story, or a coloring book, make time to enjoy the season.
