Freeform’s 31 Nights of Halloween: Days 11–15 — Grab Your Popcorn and Come on Over!

Welcome to our #Freeform Halloween movie count-dowm. Grab your chair Buttercup as I share the movies that were playing during Freeform 31 Nights of Halloween! We’ve already shared Days 1 through 5, and we’ve shared Days 6 through 10. So today, we’re moving on to Days 11 through 15. It might be Sunday but its okay to share scary movies on a Sunday when there family-friendly isn’t it?

Now, as you’ve probably noticed, many of these movies are being shown over and over and over again. And you know what? That just makes it fun! If you found a movie you especially loved, you have another opportunity to watch it. And if you missed a movie the first time around, you have a chance to go back and catch it.

That’s one of the fun things about working our way through this Halloween schedule. We get to revisit old favorites, discover movies we might have missed, and make a list of movies we want to watch with our families. And believe me, I plan on having plenty of movie parties in my home!

So come on over. Just don’t dress too scary, because I don’t handle horror, and neither does Charlie. Laughing out loud. If you want to come dressed as a cute little kitten, that’s perfectly fine with me. A friendly ghost? That would be okay, too. And if you just want to wear your pajamas, that’s all right as well!

But bring your own snacks and beverages! Because I can’t promise that Charlie and I will share. LOL! And I can’t promise we won’t be sitting there with a cup of hot chocolate, even though hot chocolate is supposed to belong to Christmas. But sometimes, you just have to break the rules! Who says you can’t enjoy a little hot chocolate while watching Halloween movies?

Now, let’s look at the movies featured on Freeform 31 Days of Halloween for Days 11 through 15, share what we’ve watched, talk about the ones still on our watch lists, and see which movies might make it onto our family movie-night calendars as I share my thoughts with David and Charlie.

Day 11: Sunday, October 110 Little Toy Story, a Whole Lot of Scooby-Doo, and More! Sunday’s lineup gave us nine movies to talk about. Yes, you heard me right. 9 movies and yes I can watch 9 movies in one day, Can you/ Some of these movies are old family favorites, and others have me wondering why I haven’t sat down to watch them yet.

7:00 a.m. — Toy Story of Terror!– This Pixar Halloween special takes Woody, Buzz, Jessie, and the gang on a trip that turns into a spooky adventure at a roadside motel.

I’m pretty sure we’ve watched Toy Story of Terror! at one time or another, but it would be fun to watch it again. We might have to host a Halloween Toy Story movie night, although I’m not so sure we can fit all the movies into one evening! Would you like to come and join my family? Of course, we’ll be adding Toy Story of Terror! to the lineup. And I’m going to have to sit close to David, just in case I get scared. So move on over, Buttercup because being next to David is taken! LOL

7:30 a.m. — Scooby-Doo (2002)– If you live in my house, you don’t just watch Scooby-Doo. You eat, live, and breathe Scooby-Doo! I know we’ve seen this movie because I remember watching it with Charlie. When Charlie and David weren’t hooked on Scooby-Doo, my nephew was growing up watching it, too.

9:30 a.m. — Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed– The gang returns for another adventure when costumed monsters begin causing trouble in Coolsville.

I’m sure we’ve seen this one, too. Just in case we haven’t it might be time to plan a Scooby-Doo movie night at our house. After all, you can never have too much Scooby-Doo when it’s a family favorite! Excuse me while I run to the store for some Scooby snacks.

11:35 a.m. — Little Shop of Horrors (1986)– This musical comedy horror movie features a shy flower-shop worker and a very unusual plant that develops a taste for human blood.

Now, I really would have thought I’d seen this movie being a musical, but I honestly don’t know if I’ve ever sat down and watched the whole thing. I’ve heard about that man-eating plant, but hearing about a movie and actually watching it are two different things!

So I really need to watch this one from beginning to end. I’m not so sure Charlie and David would want to join me, though. Would somebody like to come over and watch it with me? But you will need to bring your own popcorn because I’m not sharing!

1:40 p.m. — Beetlejuice (1988)– You already know this one belongs in our house. We eat, live, sleep, and breathe Beetlejuice!

David and Charlie love Beetlejuice, and we’ve even decorated our house with a Beetlejuice theme. This isn’t just a Halloween movie for us. It’s a movie we enjoy year-round. So if you love Beetlejuice, come on over. You already know there’s a place for you here!

3:45 p.m. — Casper (1995)– Casper holds special memories for me because this was my mom’s all-time favorite movie.

We’ve watched Casper movies so many times that we’ve practically lost count. If I could, I’d happily watch them all over again. Some movies are more than entertainment. They remind us of the people we love and the memories we carry with us.Plus, who doesn’t love a #friendlyGhost?

6:15 p.m. — The Haunted Mansion (2003)– Eddie Murphy stars as a real estate agent who takes his family to a mansion filled with ghosts and mysteries.

I wasn’t sure whether I’d seen this movie, but then I remembered Eddie Murphy was in it. And since he’s been in several movies that fit a Halloween movie night, I guess I need to plan an Eddie Murphy movie night, too! Who’s coming over for that one because if your like my family you love #EddieMurphy? If we finish these movies we may move on to Beverly Hills Cop.

8:15 p.m. — Hocus Pocus (1993)– The Sanderson sisters return when three witches are accidentally brought back to life in Salem. Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy star in this Halloween favorite.

I love the witches, but I’m honestly not sure whether I’ve watched the whole movie or how much I remember. I’ve even seen it being shown in a theater inside a restaurant, but I didn’t want to pay to see it. And here’s the thing: I don’t have Freeform, and I don’t want to pay for another streaming service just to watch one movie.

I’d love to sit down and watch Hocus Pocus and its sequel one day. Sometimes, though, we have to leave things in the Lord’s hands and see how they work out. Which is why I’m going to call my best friend Debbie and see if she gets it on her tv and if I can come over and watch. I will even bring the snacks and Pizza and most likely David. LOL

10:25 p.m. — Dark Shadows (2012) Johnny Depp stars as Barnabas Collins, a vampire who awakens centuries after being buried and returns to his family’s estate.

I don’t remember watching this movie, but man oh man, it has Johnny Depp in it! And that makes me curious. Maybe I need a Johnny Depp movie night, too. At the rate I’m going, I might be watching Halloween movies until hell freezes over! Laughing out loud.

If you love movies as much as I do, grab your snacks and come on over. Just remember to bring your own, because Charlie and I aren’t making any promises about sharing! Plus if you bring something different we can swap snacks which my family loves to do. How about you?

Day 12: Monday, October 12= Johnny Depp, Maleficent, and More Movie Nights to Plan Monday’s lineup has a few movies I haven’t watched, and one that might have me peeking from behind David’s shoulder.

9:30 a.m. — Disturbia (2007)– This suspense thriller follows a teenager placed under house arrest who begins watching his neighbors and suspects that one of them may be hiding a terrible secret.

That’s a movie I’ve never heard of. I don’t know if Charlie and David have heard of it, either. Is it scary? Is it something I could actually watch? The idea of a teenager under house arrest has me wondering what I’m getting myself into. I might have to watch it while hiding behind David’s shoulder! LOL. David, consider yourself warned and if he isn’t home Charlie I may be holding your hand, foot or leg!

11:55 a.m. — Maleficent: Mistress of Evil (2019)– Angelina Jolie returns as Maleficent in this sequel to Disney’s Maleficent. The story continues with Aurora and the complicated relationship between Maleficent, the royal family, and the world around them.

Can you believe I haven’t seen Maleficent? I know it’s a Disney movie, and my best friend Debbie absolutely loves the queen, and David likes this movie but I honestly don’t know all the movies Maleficent appears in. I honestly don’t even think I’ve watched them. Have you? I really need to sit down and watch these movies. Y’all are going to have to help me figure out what all she’s in, because I honestly don’t know! Do you?

2:30 p.m. — Edward Scissorhands (1990)– Johnny Depp plays Edward, an artificial man with scissors for hands who tries to find his place in the world after being taken in by a suburban family.

Well, this one goes straight onto my Johnny Depp movie-night list! How can you not watch Edward Scissorhands? I have a feeling this movie-night list is going to keep growing. Before you ask if #EdwardScissorhands scares me of course not. It’s to funny to be scary. Isn’t it?

4:55 p.m. — Haunted Mansion (2023)- This newer Disney haunted-house adventure follows a mother and her son who move into a mansion filled with ghosts. They recruit an unusual group of people to help them understand what’s happening in the house. Remember, this is the 2023 movie, not the Eddie Murphy version from 2003!

And yes, I already told you that I need an Eddie Murphy movie night. Now I have another haunted-house movie to consider, too and I plan on watching both versions.

7:30 p.m. — Dark Shadows (2012)- Johnny Depp returns to our schedule as Barnabas Collins, the vampire who awakens centuries after his burial and finds his family estate in a very different world.

I’ve already told you my thoughts about this one. Johnny Depp has caught my attention, and I’m considering a movie night for it. So grab that popcorn, buttercup! We have plenty of movies to get through.

Day 13: Tuesday, October 13– Johnny Depp, a Man-Eating Plant, and Those Dalmatian Puppies! Tuesday brings another movie where it stars Johnny Depp, more movies, and a musical I want to watch, and a Disney villain I absolutely need to revisit. How about you?

9:30 a.m. — Sleepy Hollow (1999)– Johnny Depp stars as Ichabod Crane, a detective investigating mysterious murders connected to the legend of the Headless Horseman.

This is another Johnny Depp movie I don’t think I’ve ever watched all the way through. I’ve seen bits and pieces, but that’s not the same as sitting down and watching the whole thing. Charlie and David have probably seen it, but you know what? They’re going to sit down and watch it with me again!

It’s a classic story, a book, and one of those things we grew up hearing about. We should watch it at least once in our lives. Even if I wind up hiding under the couch! Laughing out loud. David, you know the assignment.

12:00 p.m. — Little Shop of Horrors (1986)– We’ve already talked about this one! I want to watch the whole movie because, despite hearing about the man-eating plant, I don’t know that I’ve ever actually watched it from beginning to end. So if David and Charlie don’t want to join me, perhaps one of you movie lovers will. Bring your snacks, because I’m not promising to share mine!

2:05 p.m. — Cruella (2021)– Emma Stone stars as Cruella de Vil in this Disney origin story about the future villain from 101 Dalmatians.

And how the heck is Cruella a Halloween movie? That’s what I want to know! But I definitely want to see it because I love Cruella, especially because she’s part of 101 Dalmatians. And now that I’m thinking about Cruella, if I’m going to watch her story, then I have to watch 101 Dalmatians, too. Because if I have to watch Cruella, I have to see my doggies! So move over, people. I’m adding 101 Dalmatians to my movie-night list. Diggity, diggity dog! Come join us!

5:20 p.m. — Hocus Pocus (1993)– The Sanderson sisters are back again in this repeat showing of the original movie.

I’ve already shared my thoughts about Hocus Pocus. I want to watch this movie and its sequel, and I still haven’t made that happen. Maybe one day we’ll get our chance to sit down, grab some snacks, and watch both Hocus Pocus movies together and if not that is ok to because it wasn’t the LORD’s plans for us.

7:30 p.m. — Hocus Pocus 2 (2022)– The Sanderson sisters return in the sequel, bringing another round of witchy trouble to Salem.

As I’ve already told you, I want to watch both movies. If we’re going to do this, we might as well watch the original and the sequel together! Now, if somebody can help me find a way to watch them without paying for yet another streaming service, that would be a Godwink.

Day 14: Wednesday, October 14– Spider-Man, Ghostbusters, and the Addams Family Take Over! Wednesday’s lineup sounds like it was made for our family. We have Spider-Man, Ghostbusters, and not one but two Addams Family movies. What more do we need? oh, yes, Buttercup snacks..

10:00 a.m. — Spider-Man 3 (2007)– Tobey Maguire returns as Peter Parker in this superhero adventure, facing new enemies and struggling with the effects of a mysterious black substance that changes his suit and his personality.

As much as I hate spiders, Spider-Man is the exception to the rule! And of course we’re going to watch Spider-Man 3 and all the other movies as well. Although, I’m pretty sure we’ve watched it because Charlie is obsessed with Spider-Man. So come and join us if you love Spider-Man, too!

1:10 p.m. — Hocus Pocus (1993)– Another opportunity to watch the Sanderson sisters!

I’ve already shared my thoughts about this one, so we’ll keep it on our growing list of movies we’d love to watch.

3:20 p.m. — Ghostbusters (1984) Four scientists start a business catching ghosts in New York City, only to discover that their work may be the city’s best hope against a supernatural threat.

We’ve already watched the Ghostbusters movies a bajillion times, but you know what? We’re having a whole Ghostbusters movie night at my house! We need to watch every one of the movies again. You can never have too many Ghostbusters, especially when you have Dan Aykroyd in the original!

David, Charlie, and I grew up with these movies in different ways, and the original remains the best one in my book. If you’re a Ghostbusters fan, come on over. We’re going to need plenty of popcorn! I will even make enough for you this time Buttercup. Just bring the candy.

5:50 p.m. — The Addams Family (1991)– The wonderfully unusual Addams family finds itself dealing with a suspicious man claiming to be their long-lost Uncle Fester.

I’ve already told you that we eat, drink, and sleep Addams Family in our house. We’re definitely having an Addams Family movie night during Halloween! And we’re going to throw some Wednesday into the mix, too, because you all know David and Charlie are obsessed with Wednesday. Give me Thing or Lurch, but not them. They want Wednesday! LOL I guess I’ll let them have their favorite character. Although, I’m surprised David’s isn’t Morticia. Me Amore.

7:55 p.m. — Addams Family Values (1993)– The Addams family returns for another adventure, with Wednesday and Pugsley becoming suspicious of the children’s new nanny.

Of course this belongs in our Addams Family movie night. If we’re watching the first movie, we might as well watch the sequel, too! So come join us, and don’t forget your pajamas, snacks, and beverages. You might bring your favorite blanket as well. It might be a very long night.

Day 15: Thursday, October 15 Catching Up on Halloween Movies Before Christmas Takes Over!

For Day 15, I wanted to reshare the movies that were featured on October 15, just in case you missed them when we talked about them in our earlier posts. Maybe you missed a movie, maybe you missed one of our conversations, or maybe you’re just joining me as I’m playing catch-up. Either way, there’s still an opportunity to watch these movies and enjoy a little Halloween movie magic with your family.

9:30 a.m. — Ghostbusters (1984)– We’ve already talked about this classic. You know I’m ready for a whole Ghostbusters movie marathon, even though we’ve watched the movies more times than I can count.

11:55 a.m. — Hocus Pocus (1993)– I’ve already shared my thoughts on this one, too. I still want to watch the original and the sequel, and I’m hoping we can make that happen.

2:00 p.m. — The Haunted Mansion (2003)– Eddie Murphy stars in this supernatural comedy about a family that discovers its visit to a mysterious mansion is anything but ordinary. I’ve already decided that an Eddie Murphy movie night needs to happen. This is one of the movies that belongs on that list!

4:00 p.m. — The Addams Family (1991)– The Addams Family is another household favorite, and it will definitely be part of our Halloween movie plans. David and Charlie love the Addams Family, and I’m sure we’ll find room for the movies and some Wednesday, too.

6:00 p.m. — Addams Family Values (1993)– The sequel gives us another chance to spend time with the wonderfully strange Addams family. If we’re doing an Addams Family movie night, you already know we’re not stopping after the first movie!

8:00 p.m. — Coven Academy (Season Finale)– This supernatural teen drama follows young witches at a magical academy. The October 15 broadcast features the season finale, with episodes 8 through 10.

This is one we haven’t watched yet, so I can’t tell you what I think about it. But it’s another program on the Halloween lineup that we can look into. And that’s the fun of catching up! We can talk about the movies we’ve watched, discover the ones we’ve missed, and decide which ones we’d like to try.

So there you have it, buttercup! Days 11 through 15 of Freeform’s 31 Nights of Halloween, along with our thoughts, our old favorites, and a whole bunch of movies to add to our ever-growing list. Tomorrow we will be back with Day’s 15 through 20 to share more #Halloweenmovies with you.

Now, if there’s a movie you especially love, you have another opportunity to watch it. If you missed it the first time, you can catch it another day. And if you’ve been wanting to watch something new, maybe you’ll find it on this list. Here’s where you come in. Call me and let me know which movies you haven’t seen yet! Better yet, come on over, grab your pajamas, and let’s watch together.

Just remember to bring your own snacks and beverages. I can’t promise Charlie and I will share, and I can’t promise we won’t be drinking hot chocolate even though it’s supposed to belong to Christmas. Sometimes, you just have to break the rules! At least Charlie and I do more times than we can count David would say.

And please don’t dress too scary. I don’t handle horror, and neither does Charlie. A cute kitten, a friendly ghost, or your favorite pajamas are perfectly fine with me. But we do have one deadline: we need to finish our Halloween movie nights before Thanksgiving!

Because after Thanksgiving, there ain’t no Halloween in my house. It’s Christmas 24/7! The decorations, the music, the Christmas movies, and all the holiday fun take over, and Halloween has to wait until next year. So you’d better hurry on over if we’re going to watch all these movies together. LOL!

Until then, I’m grateful, thankful and blessed for the movies that bring us together, the memories we make while watching them, and the family and friends who make even an ordinary movie night feel special. Grab your popcorn, pick a movie, and come join us. There’s always room for one more movie lover at our house!

Grateful, Thankful, and Blessed,

Thank you,
