I am so excited #Halloween is almost here, although Charlie doesn’t go trick or treating and I miss it I love being able to share events my readers may want to attend. If your family is still making plans, there is time to find some local fun before the candy bowls come out on Saturday night! The nice part is David and I can go to the Mall and watch the kids all dressed up which is my favorite part of Halloween. How about you?
Being in North Richland Hills I wanted to share events in Watauga, North Richland Hills, Richland Hills, Haltom City, and the surrounding neighborhoods, wwith you which will give families have a few more opportunities to enjoy Halloween activities, see decorated cars, visit local businesses, and find treats before October comes to an end.
One of the favorite things I love about Greatful Moments, is sharing things happening close to home. We don’t always have to travel across the Metroplex to find something fun to do with our family. Sometimes the best memories are made right in our own communities.
I’ve gathered the upcoming activities I could find for October 25–31, 2026. Event details can change, so please check the organizer’s listing before leaving home, especially if the weather turns. Be careful and be safe but make lots of memories and if you have the opportunity come share where you went with us.
North Richland Hills: Halloween fun and local businesses
College Hill Church of Christ — Trunk or Treat– Sunday, October 25, 5–6:30 p.m.
- Location: College Hill Church of Christ, 7447 North College Circle, North Richland Hills, TX 76180
- Cost: Free
- Activities: Games, crafts, a photo booth, and a Trunk-or-Treat candy circle
- More information: Event listing and details
If you’re looking for something to do today, this is a local option for families who want to put on their costumes and enjoy an outdoor Halloween gathering. The event is scheduled for this evening, so check the organizer’s page for any last-minute changes.
Franken-Friday at North Richland Hills Library– Friday, October 30, 2–4 p.m.
- Location: North Richland Hills Library, Children’s Area
- Cost: Check the library’s event listing
- Activities: Halloween games, a haunted-house craft, and spooky storytime at 3:30 p.m.
- More information: North Richland Hills Library events calendar
I thought this sounded like a lot of fun and it is a good option for families who would rather enjoy a library activity than spend the afternoon outside. The storytime is scheduled for 3:30 p.m., so plan accordingly if that’s the part your little ones want to attend.
Smithfield Station Shopping Center — Trunk or Treat– Saturday, October 31, noon–3 p.m.
- Location: 7801 Brandi Place, North Richland Hills, TX 76182
- Cost: Check the organizer’s listing for any participation details
- Activities: Trunk-or-Treat and special offerings from shopping-center businesses
- More information: Smithfield Station Trunk or Treat
This event is especially interesting because it brings together local businesses. The event listing names several participating shopping-center businesses, including:
- Tropes Bookstore
- Model Train Crossing Hobby Store
- Chapman Agency Farmers Insurance
- Shine Pole & Aerial Fitness Studio
- Rebecca’s Runway Boutique
- Stage Notes School of Music and Arts
- The Grooming Salon
- DFW Soda Saloon
These are the kinds of neighborhood businesses I enjoy introducing to readers. When we attend local events and support small businesses, we’re helping keep our communities interesting and connected. Just don’t be surprised if you start to look for me that I’m not inside the bookstore reading a book or three.
Check the event listing before heading out for the latest information about activities and participation.
Town Square Market — Trick or Treat Halloween Market– Saturday, October 31, 10 a.m.–2 p.m.
- Location: Creek Trail Park, North Richland Hills
- Activities listed: Outdoor vendors, food, sweet treats, a scavenger hunt, prizes, and a costume contest for dogs
- More information: Town Square Market Trick or Treat Halloween Market
If your family enjoys browsing vendors as much as collecting candy, this market may be worth considering. You can look for local gifts, treats, and other seasonal finds while enjoying the Halloween atmosphere. This is another event I think that would be fun to join in on.
The online listings have conflicting street addresses, so confirm the exact park entrance and event location with the organizer before setting out.
Canales Furniture — Halloween Classic Car Show and Trunk or Treat– Saturday, October 31, 4–8 p.m.
- Location: Canales Furniture, 5555 Rufe Snow Drive, North Richland Hills, TX 76180
- Admission: Listed as free for the public
- Activities: Classic cars, Trunk-or-Treat, a costume contest, games, and music
- More information: Event details
For families who like cars as much as candy, this is another Halloween option to put on the list. The event listing also says proceeds benefit D&D Rockin’ Rods Family & Friends Christmas for Kids.
Because this event runs into the evening, check the organizer’s details before deciding how it fits with your family’s Halloween-night plans. But it is something David and I would enjoy.
Hometown and Diamond Loch: Neighborhood Halloween traditions
Hometown and Diamond Loch in North Richland Hills are neighborhoods worth considering if your family enjoys looking at Halloween decorations and seeing how residents celebrate the season.
I haven’t verified official neighborhood-wide Trick-or-Treat hours or a list of participating homes for 2026. Decorations alone don’t guarantee that a home is handing out candy, so look for porch lights, follow any neighborhood guidance, and respect homes that aren’t participating.
If you’re visiting to admire decorations, be considerate of residents, keep driveways clear, and watch for children crossing neighborhood streets. Also be prepared because these two communities can get pretty busy and there is a lot of walking involved. If crowds bother you these may not be the places to attend.
Watauga: A Halloween-week library activity– Snake Encounters at Watauga Public Library
Saturday, October 31, 1–2 p.m.
- Location: Watauga Public Library, 7109 Whitley Road, Watauga, TX
- Cost: Listed as free
- Activity: A one-hour snake-encounter program
- More information: Event listing
This is a different kind of Halloween-week outing for children who enjoy animals and learning about nature. Since this program involves snakes, parents should review the event details to decide whether it is a good fit for their children. Please confirm the program with the library before leaving home.
This is one event I would skip but its something David would love because he likes Snakes. Crazy guy. What about you. #TeamSnakes or #TeamNoSnake? Why?
Haltom City: Carfest on Halloween at Haltom High School Saturday, October 31, 10 a.m.–2 p.m.
- Location: Haltom High School, 5501 Haltom Road, Haltom City, TX 76117
- Cost: Free for spectators; vehicle registration has a fee
- Activities: Cars, trucks, motorcycles, food, vendors, and entertainment
- More information: Official City of Haltom City event information
Carfest is one of Tarrant County’s large car shows, and it offers a daytime outing before families turn their attention to Halloween evening. The city’s announcement says proceeds benefit the Refresh Back-to-School Fair, which helps local families with backpacks, school supplies, and other essentials.
Carfest is a car show, not a confirmed Trunk-or-Treat event, so plan to enjoy the vehicles and vendors rather than assume candy will be handed out. This is somewhere my family has been going for years.
Richland Hills: A Halloween-day car show and Trunk-or-Treat–
Richland Hills Baptist Church — A Halloween-day car show and Trunk-or-Treat–
Saturday, October 31, 10 a.m.–2 p.m.
- Location: Richland Hills Baptist Church, 6852 Baker Boulevard, Richland Hills, TX 76118
- Admission: Listed as free for spectators
- Activities: Decorated vehicles, candy, costume awards, and food available for purchase
- More information: Car Cruise Finder event listing
Families who enjoy looking at decorated cars may want to check this one out. With the event scheduled during the day, it could also fit into a Halloween outing before evening neighborhood Trick-or-Treating. Check the listing for any updates before you go
If you attend you might see David and I here.
Fort Worth: Two Halloween Events at the DFW Car & Toy Museum
If your family loves classic cars, vintage toys, and a little Halloween fun, the DFW Car & Toy Museum has two different reasons to visit on Saturday, October 31! You can visit during the day to see a famous television car, then return for an evening of Trick-or-Treating.
1. Halloween Costumes at the Museum: Meet The Munsters’ Dragula!
Saturday, October 31, 2026 | 9 a.m.–6 p.m.
- Location: DFW Car & Toy Museum, 2550 McMillan Parkway, Fort Worth, TX 76137
- Admission: The museum advertises free admission.
- What’s happening: Wear your Halloween costume and see The Munsters’ legendary Dragula coffin dragster up close. The museum describes this as a family-friendly Halloween opportunity, with a chance to take photos with the iconic television vehicle.
David and Charlie might especially enjoy this one if they like classic cars and television memorabilia. And with more than cars on display, the museum gives visitors plenty to look at beyond the Halloween attraction.
Event details: Halloween Costumes at the Museum & Meet The Munsters’ Dragula
2. Trunk-or-Treat at the DFW Car & Toy Museum
Saturday, October 31, 2026 | 5–7 p.m.
- Location: DFW Car & Toy Museum parking lot, 2550 McMillan Parkway, Fort Worth, TX 76137
- Activities: Candy, family-friendly Trick-or-Treating, and children’s activities
- Bonus: The museum invites visitors to bring their dogs in costume, too!
This is a separate event from the daytime Dragula visit. Families can come in costume, enjoy a safe parking-lot Trunk-or-Treat, and collect candy before heading off to their other Halloween plans.
The museum says the event wraps up at 7 p.m., making it an option for families who want to fit in an organized Trick-or-Treat before the evening gets too late.
Event details: Trunk-or-Treat at the DFW Car & Toy Museum
Planning tip: These are two separate activities with different hours. Check the museum’s official event pages before leaving home in case details change.
Riverside: Check local neighborhood announcements
I wasn’t able to verify a specific 2026 Halloween event for the Riverside area intended in this guide. Some online event directories use the name Riverside for places outside North Texas, so I don’t want to accidentally send local families to an event in the wrong state. If you’re planning to Trick-or-Treat in Riverside, check local neighborhood or community announcements for participating streets, times, and any safety guidance. Then come back and share the events with us.
Halloween treats and restaurant offers Sometimes the question isn’t just where to go, but where to find a special treat along the way. Seasonal restaurant offers can be helpful for families trying to keep Halloween fun affordable, but the details matter.
IHOP — Scary Face Pancakes are a seasonal Halloween favorite. Online deal listings have reported a 2026 offer for children 12 and under to receive a free Scary Face Pancake with the purchase of an adult entrée at participating locations.
Before making plans: I haven’t independently confirmed the offer’s terms with the North Richland Hills or Hurst-area IHOP restaurants. Check directly with your location about participation, dates, dine-in requirements, and any purchase conditions. Don’t assume the offer is available at every restaurant or that it includes a full children’s meal.
You can start with the official IHOP website to find a nearby location and contact information.
What about Kroger and other grocery stores?
I looked for a confirmed Halloween event or special at local Kroger stores but couldn’t verify a current 2026 promotion for the locations in this guide. I don’t want to promise a free treat or activity that a store hasn’t announced. But in the past they did do things for Halloween when they were in Haltom City. If you’re already planning a grocery trip, check your local store’s current announcements or ask customer service whether it has a Halloween activity planned.
A few Halloween planning reminders– Before you load the family into the car, here are a few things worth checking:
- Confirm event times and locations, especially when listings disagree.
- Check whether registration is required or whether an event is free.
- Ask about accessibility, restrooms, and parking if those details affect your visit.
- Bring a bag or bucket for candy when attending a Trunk-or-Treat.
- Keep children close in parking lots and around decorated vehicles.
- Remember that not every decorated home is participating in Trick-or-Treating.
- Check for weather updates before outdoor events.
One of my favorite things about a local guide is that it gives us a reason to discover places and businesses we might otherwise pass by. A bookstore, a hobby shop, a boutique, a music school, or a neighborhood restaurant can all become part of a family memory. As Halloween approaches, I hope this guide helps you find something enjoyable close to home. Whether your family chooses a library activity, a car show, a Trunk-or-Treat, or a walk through a decorated neighborhood, make the most of the time you have together.
Did I miss a Halloween event, fall festival, Trunk-or-Treat, neighborhood full of decorations, or family-friendly activity happening around Watauga, North Richland Hills, Hometown, Diamond Loch, Richland Hills, Haltom City, or Riverside? I’d love to hear about it!
Here at Greatful Moments, I’m always looking for ways to help families discover fun things happening close to home and support the communities we share. If you’re hosting an event or know of one we should add, leave a comment or reach out through GreatfulMoments.com.
I’ll do my best to verify the details and add more events as information becomes available. After all, the best local guides are the ones we can build together! Until then, I hope you find something fun to do, make a few sweet memories, and have a safe and happy Halloween.
Grateful, Thankful, and Blessed.
From our front porch to yours, may your Halloween be safe, sweet, and full of reasons to be grateful, thankful, and blessed.
Event information was checked against available listings as of October 25, 2026. Dates, times, offers, and participation may change; confirm with the event organizer or business before visiting.
