Men. All I gotta say this morning is we may not have to love them but we wouldn’t be who we are without them and I wouldnt be here starring at totes as I wonder where on Earth David put my What Would Dolly Do Candle this morning which I had received a while ago for a review.
Foe me Sunday Morning is for music, a slower day and a down home recipe along with a book and my Dolly Parton Candle lite in the background to drown out the incense Charlie and David like to use that bothers my head more times than I can count which they can’t seem to understand.
In my home there is some things you bring into your home that become more than just another item sitting on a shelf. Sometimes it’s something small that makes you smile every time you see it, and sometimes it’s something that reminds you of someone who has brought so much joy into your life.
That’s how I feel about my What Would Dolly Do? candle whic is what this little purple candle reminds me of is Dolly Parton. It’s not a huge candle, and at first glance, it reminds me a little of the candles you might find at the grocery store. But this one has sparkles, and I it has three wicks. It’s just a pretty little candle, and I absolutely love it.
I’ve tried to find the company that made it, but so far, I haven’t been able to track it down online. I don’t want to tell you who made it when I can’t be sure. What I can tell you is that this little candle has become one of my very favorite candles of all time. And that got me thinking about Dolly.
There’s just something about Dolly Parton that makes you smile. Her music, her sense of humor, her personality, and the way she has connected with people over the years have made her a special part of so many lives. You don’t have to know someone personally for them to bring happiness into your home.
Sometimes it’s through a song. Sometimes it’s through a movie. And sometimes it’s a little purple candle with sparkles and a name that makes you stop and think, What Would Dolly Do? I can tell you what I would do on a Sunday morning! If I could get everyone to leave me alone for 5 minutes.
I’d grab my book, get my blanket, curl up in bed, and get ready to watch 9 to 5. There’s something comforting about settling in, taking a little time for myself, and enjoying a movie that makes you smile. Add my favorite little candle to the mix, and that sounds like a pretty good Sunday morning to me.
I think that’s one of the nice things about the little things we bring into our homes. They don’t have to be expensive or big to mean something. Sometimes they remind us of a favorite singer, a movie we have watched over and over, or a memory that makes an ordinary day feel special.
My What Would Dolly Do? candle may be small, but it has certainly earned its place among my favorites. And even though I haven’t found the company that made it, I’m glad I have it. Because sometimes a little sparkle is all you need to brighten your day! What about you? Are you a Dolly Parton fan?
Do you have a favorite Dolly song or movie, or is there a special little item in your home that reminds you of someone you love? I’d love to hear about it. Until next time, may your day be filled with a little music, a little laughter, and plenty of reasons to be grateful.
