The other day David was cleaning our home and he discovered we was out of bleach. He let me know he needed to go to Dollar Tree and asked me if I wanted to go with him. I knew going there I might fall down the rabbit hole because of all the #Holiday decorations they would have out and I reminded David that sometimes I might find something I wasn’t looking for but I might need it.
Once we got there I began walking around Dollar Tree looking for some of the new cosmetics, including the Disney line, because I had seen some of the Disney cosmetics for less at Dollar Tree than what I had found at Walmart. I turned a corner and found a Secret Whole Body Cooling Deodorant display.
And apparently, I wasn’t the only person who had discovered it because almost everything on the display was gone. There was only one left—and I grabbed it. I was holding it when David walked up. I put it back in the display case because I knew I didn’t need to spend money.
But David asked what I found and I showed him. Then I read to David what all it worked on and David said to get it. But it was $5 not a $1 like the store says. I put it back and went on to the car and David went back and bought it for me. Again that is love because he knew I not only wanted it but I needed it.
Now, before we go any further, let’s have a little talk about the name Dollar Tree. It isn’t really the Dollar Tree of years ago. Even Santa has to shake his head when he drives by Dollar Tree these days. Even when Santa is shopping for Mrs. Claus, he has to watch the prices.
After all, just like my family, there are families who may be living on one income and trying to make every dollar stretch a little further. When you’re buying Christmas gifts, you want to be able to buy more than one thing for the people you love and when shopping here a lot of times I can’t buy but one or two things. I can’t fill up my buggy the way I used to.
A couple years agon Dollar Tree was one of the places you could run in for a few snacks, stocking stuffers, little gifts and household items without worrying about breaking the bank. Not anymore! For my family living on one income makes it hard because we can’t always buy the things we need.
Something that used to cost a dollar might be $4, $5, or even more. God only knows what you’re going to find when you’re shopping at Dollar Tree, so always check the price before you put something in your cart. This Secret Whole Body Deodorant Spray was $5 when I found it.
Was I disappointed that it wasn’t a dollar? Of course! But did I still want to try it? Absolutely. I’ve been curious about Secret’s Whole Body line, and finding this one sitting there was the perfect opportunity to give it a try. But in the back of my mind I kept asking myself if this was a good deal or it might be cheaper at Walmart or Family Dollar.
The product I picked up was Secret Aluminum Free Whole Body Deodorant Spray in Peach & Vanilla Blossom. It’s a 3.5-ounce deodorant body spray that is designed to provide odor protection beyond just your underarms. The product is aluminum-free, goes on clear, is pH balanced and is made without heavy waxes.
And one thing I want to make clear is that this is a deodorant, not an antiperspirant. That’s an important distinction because deodorant helps with odor, while antiperspirant is intended to reduce sweating. Secret says the Whole Body spray provides 72-hour odor protection and instantly cools the skin.
The directions explain where and how to use the product, and the packaging provides the ingredients and other product information. I’ve used it twice so far. That’s important because I’m not going to tell you that I’ve personally tested the 72-hour claim when I haven’t. Two uses simply aren’t enough for me to make that kind of statement.
What I can tell you is that so far, it works for me for odor protection. And I really like that Secret designed this as a whole-body deodorant. The package talks about using it on areas such as the pits, chest and toes, which caught my attention. Sometimes you need odor protection in places other than your underarms, especially here in Texas when the temperatures start climbing.
I’m curious to see how this performs when our Texas heat really gets going. Right now, after only two uses, I’m happy with how it has worked. But I’m going to keep using it before I decide exactly how well it holds up in the heat. Especially when my breast start sweating.
But What About the Peach & Vanilla Blossom Scent? This is where my experience doesn’t quite match the name. The bottle says Peach & Vanilla Blossom, and I was expecting something that smelled sweet and fruity with that soft vanilla scent. That’s not really what I smell.
To me, it has more of a medicinal-type scent. I wouldn’t describe it as smelling bad, but I also wouldn’t tell you to buy it expecting a strong peach-and-vanilla fragrance. Scent is personal, though, so what smells medicinal to me might smell completely different to someone else. That’s why I always like to tell you what I experience rather than simply repeating what the label says.
After finding this one at Dollar Tree, I decided to visit Secret’s website to see what else was available. And I discovered products I had never even seen in stores. Secret has other Whole Body options, including:

- Relaxing Lavender Cooling Deodorant Mist
- Whole Body Sensitive Deodorant Cream
- Lilac & Water Lily
Now I’m wondering what else I’ve been missing! I really like the bottles, too. I don’t remember seeing these particular products sitting on store shelves before, so the next time I go shopping, I’m definitely going to be looking. And yes, one of my missions will be checking Walmart to see which of these Secret Whole Body products they carry.
For me these could Christmas Gifts? In fact, while I was looking at the different products, I started thinking about our Christmas Gift Guide for Women. Why not give women useful gifts that they’ll actually use? Yes, Santa you can tell David and Charlie about these and ask them to bring me some which I would be grateful, thankful and blessed to have.

I know some people think a deodorant isn’t much of a Christmas present, but I’m a practical gift person. If someone is going to use something every day, why not put it in a stocking or gift basket? I can already imagine Santa loading up his sleigh. Santa, you can bring some of these to me! 😂
Another question I know you might be wondering about is it I would buy it again? Based on my first two uses, yes, I would be willing to try it again. I’m especially interested in trying some of the other Whole Body varieties now that I’ve discovered they exist.
The biggest question for me is going to be how this deodorant performs once the Texas heat really kicks in. I’ll have to keep using it and see how it holds up. And if I find the Invigorating Mint, Relaxing Lavender or Sensitive Whole Body products while I’m shopping, you can bet I’ll be taking a closer look.
Sometimes the best product discoveries happen when you’re not even shopping for them. I went into Dollar Tree looking for Disney cosmetics. I came around a corner and found Secret. There was only one left. So I brought it home, gave it a try, and now I’m wondering what else Secret has that I haven’t discovered yet.
