I thought I would share a fun fact about myself which will led us into today’s question in our series What If I Was. I’ve always love game shows and even watch game show network whern I can’t find something else to watch.

I can tell you the game show host on most of the shows if you give me a name of a show. When I was younger my best friend and I always wanted to be on Wheel of Fortune as parenters.

Did you know Charlie and David will not watch this show with me because most of the time I can guess the puzzle before anyone else which drives them batty. Which is why I should be on the show the next time they come to DFW.

This is why this morning’s questions is what if I was a game show host is the question I cam up with.

What If I Was a Game Show Host? — Part A: David, Glenda, Charlie & Suzanne because there are some questions we ask ChatGPT because we genuinely want an answer. And then there are the questions we ask because they’re just plain fun.

That is one of the reasons I love our What If I Was…? series. We’ve asked ChatGPT to imagine what our family members would be if they were different things. Sometimes the answers make perfect sense. Sometimes they make us laugh. Sometimes I look at the answer and think, “Where in the world did you get that one?” And sometimes ChatGPT gets it so right that I have to admit it.

Now, I know not everybody likes ChatGPT, and that’s okay. We all have our own opinions about artificial intelligence and technology. I’m not trying to convince anyone that they have to use it or like it.

For us, though, ChatGPT is simply part of the creative process. We ask the question. ChatGPT gives us its reasoning. Then we get to have our say. That’s what makes these articles different.

ChatGPT doesn’t get the final word. Our family gets to react, disagree, laugh, and tell you what we think. And then, just like always, we want to know what you think, too. So this time we’re asking:

What If I Was a Game Show Host? We’re going to break this one into four parts. Part A is David, Glenda, Charlie, and Suzanne. Part B will be Gerald, Debbie, and Renee. Part C will be our fur babies: Bear, Phoebe, Sandy, and Gunner.

And yes, Gunner is included, even though he is going home in just a couple of days. He is still part of our story and absolutely deserves his place in this article. Then, at the very end, we’re going to bring everybody together for the family finale.

So let’s start with Part A which is David because he is the head of our household. Then we move onto me. Then we go to Charlie and we end section A with Suzzane because she may not be here on Earth she is still part of our family.

David — David — ChatGPT chose Steve Harvey who is the host of Family Feud because David has a personality that could work well behind a game-show podium. He isn’t afraid to speak his mind, and he has that straightforward way of communicating that could make for some pretty entertaining moments.

Steve Harvey is known for bringing personality, humor, and plenty of interaction with contestants to his hosting jobs. ChatGPT apparently sees some of that same potential in David.

Glenda’s Thoughts: , I have to admit, Steve Harvey would not have been my choice for David. If I were making the choice myself, I would have picked Monty Hall from Let’s Make a Deal. But that’s exactly why I wanted ChatGPT to make the choices for this article.

Okay, ChatGPT in a way you got this one right although, I originally thought of Monty Hall myself because Let’s Make a Deal just screams David to me. Now, I have a question for you. Can’t you see this?

I can see David in one of those strange costumes, laughing and carrying on, waiting to see what kind of crazy deal he’s going to get. And I can absolutely see Charlie hiding somewhere in the audience in the most outrageous costume he could find, waiting to be chosen.

But here’s the part that really makes me laugh. If they were giving away a donkey on Let’s Make a Deal? You can bet your bottom dollar David would be figuring out how to load that donkey up and bring it home to me.

He wouldn’t be standing there wondering what he was going to do with a donkey. He’d be laughing. He’d be making a plan. And somehow, we’d probably end up with a donkey. That’s David.

Now Readers, It’s Your Turn Was ChatGPT right, or was Glenda? If David were a game show host, would you pick Steve Harvey from Family Feud or Monty Hall from Let’s Make a Deal? Or is there another game show host you would choose for David? And why?

Glenda — For me, ChatGPT chose Bob Barker. If you’re not familiar with Bob Barker’s game show, he was the longtime host of The Price Is Right. Barker began hosting the CBS version in 1972 and remained with the show for 35 years.

ChatGPT chose Bob Barker for me because of the warmth and familiarity he brought to the show. For those of us that watched the show there was something welcoming about Bob Barker.

The Price Is Right wasn’t just about prizes and pricing games. It had a feeling that everybody was welcome to come on down and be part of the fun. ChatGPT thinks that fits me.

I’m somebody who likes bringing people together. I like stories. I like making people feel welcome. And I like the idea of turning ordinary moments into something we can remember. Bob Barker had that familiar, comfortable quality. He could make a television game show feel like you were sitting in your living room with people you knew.

Glenda’s Thoughts I actually agree with ChatGPT on this one. The Price Is Right is one of my very favorite game shows, and Bob Barker was my favorite host. So when ChatGPT said Bob Barker, I could see it.

But if I were choosing based purely on my personal obsession with one particular part of a game show, I might choose somebody completely different. The Whammy. Yes. The Whammy from Press Your Luck.

Not because I want the Whammy taking anybody’s money. I don’t think they should take your money! But those little Whammies are hilarious, and I’ve always been fascinated by them.

So maybe Bob Barker is who I would actually be as a host. But somewhere inside me is a little Whammy just waiting to come out. And that’s probably something we should all be concerned about.

Charlie — Alex Trebek– ChatGPT chose Alex Trebek, the legendary host of Jeopardy! beginning with its syndicated revival in 1984 and went on to host thousands of episodes over nearly four decades.

ChatGPT chose Alex Trebek for Charlie because Charlie has the brains, confidence, competitiveness, and ability to stay composed while everybody else is losing their minds. That sounds about right.

Charlie is a gamer. He likes competition. He likes figuring things out. And he has the kind of mind that makes you think he might know the answer before you’ve even finished asking the question.

ChatGPT also sees Charlie as somebody who could handle the pressure of being in front of an audience while still keeping his cool. And Jeopardy! is definitely a game where knowing the answer matters.

Glenda’s Thoughts; I can see Alex Trebek for Charlie. I really can. But there is another game show that might fit Charlie just as well. The Gong Show. Because I can see this scene perfectly.

I’m singing and Suzanne is dancing. We’re having a wonderful time. And Charlie is standing there looking at us like we’ve completely lost our minds. Then he reaches for the gong. GONG! “GET OFF MY STAGE!”

And he wouldn’t just gong us once. He’d probably gong us 90 to nothing. That’s Charlie. Alex Trebek represents the smart, competitive, knowledgeable side of Charlie. But The Gong Show represents the Charlie who has reached his limit with the rest of us. And honestly? I think both are pretty accurate.

Now Readers, It’s Your Turn: Was ChatGPT right, or was Glenda? Would Charlie make a better Alex Trebek on Jeopardy!? Or would he be happier standing beside that giant gong and sending the rest of us off the stage? Or is there another game show host you think fits Charlie? Tell us why!

Suzanne — ChatGPT chose Gene Rayburn, the longtime host of Match Game. ChatGPT saw Suzanne as someone who would bring playfulness, personality, and a little mischief to the show.

Match Game was built around personalities, humor, and people having fun together, so the choice made sense. But then I started thinking about Suzanne and Glenda had another idea and yes, I think she was right.

Glenda’s Thoughts– She said Suzzane was Vanna White from Wheel of Fortune who has been part of Wheel of Fortune since 1982, becoming one of the most recognizable faces associated with the show. She has revealed letters, cheered on contestants, and become famous for all those beautiful outfits and costume changes.

And that is Suzanne to me. Classy, fancy and beautifully dressed. With all those costume changes Suzanne would have loved. And Vanna has always had that polished, graceful presence while still having a personality of her own.

I could see Suzanne doing the same thing. Although there is one very important rule: Do not put Suzanne in yellow. Just don’t. And then there’s the prize wheel and the cars, trips and money.

I can see Suzanne walking across that stage in one of those beautiful outfits, turning the letters, smiling for the cameras, and then suddenly being handed the keys to a brand-new vehicle.

Especially if the prize was a Cadillac Escalade. I don’t think Suzanne would even wait for the commercial break. She’d get in that Escalade and whiz right off toward the prize floor. And we’d all be standing there laughing.

That’s why, after thinking about it, ChatGPT said they think Vanna White fits Suzanne better than there original Gene Rayburn choice.

She has the glamour and she has the style with personality. And she definitely has that little bit of “I don’t take anything off anybody.” And that’s our Suzanne.

Part B Next up are: Gerald, Debbie and Renee. Three more personalities and three more game show hosts. And I’m already wondering what ChatGPT is going to come up with or are they going to run out of game shows?

Then we’re bringing in the fur babies in part C: Bear Charlie’s doggie, Phoebe my baby, Sandy Charlie’s doggie that is becoming everyone’s doggie especially David and las but not least Gunner.

Yes, Gunner gets his own place in this story, even though he will be going home in just a couple of days. He has been part of our family story while he’s been with us, and that makes him part of this adventure, too. And you already know that when we get to the dogs, things are probably going to get a little crazy.

After we’ve gone through everybody, we’re going to bring the whole family together. Because that’s really what these What If I Was…? articles are about. Which is not about finding the perfect answer.

They’re about remembering the personalities, quirks, stories, laughter, and little things that make each person who they are. ChatGPT gets to make its choices then Glenda gets to give her opinion. And then our readers get to tell us what they think.

So stay with us for Part B, Part C, and the family finale. Because if you think David, Glenda, Charlie, and Suzanne made a crazy game-show lineup… You haven’t met the rest of our family yet.
