Part B: Friends & Family

Before we begin a new day I wanted to let you know I’m back with Part B of our “What If I Was a Country Music Star?” adventure! If you missed part A our Immediate Family you can check out that post here.

In Part A, we started with our immediate family—David, Glenda, Charlie, and Suzanne. Now we’re moving on to the next group: Gerald, Debbie, and Renee. Then in Part C we will be sharing our Furbabies and in Part D our entire family and in this series we will even be bringing you a bonus post.

Before I share the article with you I wanted to remind you I have ChatGPT choose the answer to the question based on what ChatGPT has learned about my family through the work we’ve done together.

I know some people have strong opinions about ChatGPT and AI but I use it to help with research and its been a Godsend for my family. If you don’t like ChatGPT or AI I understand and respect your thoughts but with it helping me I will be using it.

The part I like most about this series is seeing what ChatGPT comes up with and then I get to tell you whether I agree—or whether I had somebody completely different in mind because sometimes ChatGPT gets the answer right sometimes it makes me stop and think. Other times they may get it wrong and that’s okay because no, one is perfect.

Gerald — When I asked ChatGPT which country music star Gerald would be, it picked Willie Nelson. And honestly, this one made me laugh. Not because I don’t see it—but because Willie Nelson was one of the people I originally thought of for David!

ChatGPT said Gerald reminds it of Willie because of his independent spirit and the fact that he tends to do things his own way. Willie Nelson has never been somebody who needed to fit neatly into somebody else’s idea of what he was supposed to be.

He’s always had his own style, his own opinions, and his own way of doing things. And ChatGPT sees that same independent streak in Gerald.

Here’s Glenda’s Thought’s: I can actually see Willie Nelson for Gerald because Gerald definitely has an independent spirit. But if I had been choosing Gerald’s country music star, I might have gone in a completely different direction.

I see some of Jon Bon Jovi in Gerald. Yes, I know—Jon Bon Jovi isn’t country. But I’m thinking about the personality, not the genre. Gerald has that same “I’m going to do things my way” quality. So ChatGPT choose Willie Nelson which I can see but if I had to choose I see a little Jon Bon Jovi. And somehow, I think both choices work.

Do you think ChatGPT choose the right person for Gerald or did I? Or is there a better fit for Gerald you would like to share with me?

Debbie — And ChatGPT picked Reba McEntire. This one made me laugh because Reba isn’t just a country star I happen to like. Reba is one of my idols. And Debbie loves Reba, too. So right from the beginning, ChatGPT may have accidentally gotten this one exactly right.

ChatGPT said Reba fits Debbie because she has that combination of strength, warmth, practicality, family, femininity, and a strong personality. Reba can be funny and down-to-earth while still being incredibly strong. She has that ability to be feminine without being fragile and warm without being a pushover. And that feels like Debbie.

Glenda’s Thoughts– I agree with ChatGPT on this one. Reba McEntire is Debbie. There’s also another little family connection that makes this choice even funnier. Charlie was apparently going to marry Reba at one time. LOL

So between Debbie loving Reba, me loving Reba, and Charlie apparently planning his future with Reba, I think we’ve got enough family history to make this official. But there is another reason I think Reba fits Debbie.

She loves horses. She loves country. And she loves those good old boys. So yes. ChatGPT picked Reba. And for once, I don’t have to argue with ChatGPT. I agree. I bet you if I asked Debbie what she would think she would agree as well.

Renee — ChatGPT picked Carrie Underwood because of her determination, willingness to get things done, and ability to step up and make something happen. Carrie Underwood has that strong, confident personality. She’s not afraid to take action.

And ChatGPT sees that same quality in Renee. She’s somebody who can step up when something needs to be done instead of standing around waiting for somebody else to handle it. And there’s a certain toughness underneath the feminine side.

Glenda’s Thoughts: I actually really like this choice. I loved Carrie Underwood when she first came out. She was one of my favorites, and I especially loved “Before He Cheats.” And when I think about Renee, I can absolutely picture her standing there with the baseball bat.

Let’s just say… I wouldn’t want to be the person who made Renee mad enough to start singing that song. Because Carrie Underwood’s “Before He Cheats” isn’t exactly a song about sitting quietly and letting somebody walk all over you.

And that’s what I see in Renee. She’s determined. She gets things done. She’s willing to step up. And if something needs to be handled, she’s not necessarily going to stand around waiting for somebody else to do it. So yes, ChatGPT. Carrie Underwood works for Renee.

And there we have it! ChatGPT’s choices for this group are: Gerald — Willie Nelson and I agree with ChatGPT, Debbie — Reba McEntire was right again, and Renee — Carrie Underwood without a doubt.

And my thoughts? Gerald: I can see Willie, but I still see some Jon Bon Jovi in him. Debbie: Reba McEntire. Absolutely. ChatGPT got that one right. Renee: Carrie Underwood. Especially if we’re talking about the woman with the baseball bat in “Before He Cheats.”

And we’re not done yet! We’ve talked about my immediate family. We’ve talked about my friends and family. But there’s another very important group in this family… Our Fur Babies! Doggies.

Because you didn’t think I was going to leave the dogs out of a country music adventure, did you? Not a chance! Next up, we’re finding out which country music stars ChatGPT thinks Bear Bear, Phoebe, Sandy, and Gunnar would be.
