This week has brought lots of changes for our family some good, some bad and some that have us shaking our heads and asking what’s going to happen next and why. Through all the challenges I was able to see how much Charlie has grown over the past year and its made me even more proud of him.
Sometimes life changes before you’re ready for it. Our family found ourselves facing something we never expected. Two young men went to work like they always do, and within a day, both were home wondering what was going to happen next.
Right now, we don’t have all the answers. We don’t know what Monday will bring when David goes to HR. We don’t know what will happen with the boys’ jobs. We don’t know how long it might take if they have to find something new.
And yes, there are bills, car insurance, a car payment, and all the other things that don’t stop just because life suddenly becomes uncertain. But here’s what I do know. God already knows what Monday holds.
We may not understand why this happened. We may not know what the next step looks like. But we can pray, we can work, we can ask questions, we can look for solutions, and we can keep moving forward.
That’s actually where a new series on Greatful Moments was born. Teen Entrepreneur: When Plan A Changes We’re going to talk about what happens when a young person’s first job suddenly becomes uncertain—and what parents and teenagers can learn from it.
We’re going to learn about employment, HR, unemployment, keeping records, finding another job, temporary work, gig work, DoorDash, budgeting, entrepreneurship, and most importantly, learning that one difficult chapter does not determine the rest of your story.
And we’re going to learn it as we go. Because Mama hasn’t dealt with unemployment in 19 years. David hasn’t dealt with it in more than 10. Things have changed, and we’re going to figure them out together.
Maybe that’s the Godwink in all of this. Maybe our family is going through something difficult right now because someday another mama is going to sit at her kitchen table wondering, “What do I do now?”
And maybe she’ll find our story and realize she isn’t alone. So today, I’m putting this situation where it belongs. In God’s hands. We’ll do our part. We’ll make the calls. We’ll ask the questions.
We’ll help the boys find their next step. We’ll keep working. We’ll keep learning. We’ll keep trusting. And whatever happens, we’ll believe that God can use even this. We don’t know what tomorrow holds… but we know Who holds tomorrow. Please keep our family in your prayers as we walk into this new week. ❤️
