For me there is something special about the view from a front porch. I believe it is a space built for doing nothing as Bear and I watch the world go by. Nothing moving quickly just a middle ground between the rush of the world outside and the quiet sanctuary of home.
I don’t know about you but for a long time, my days felt like they were moving too fast. I was constantly checking screens, rushing through mornings, and collecting to-do lists that never seemed to end. Family calling me even when they could see I was working. Videos having to be done over and over because someone said something they shouldn’t.
Then one afternoon, exhausted by the noise, I took my glass of Milo’s Sweet Tea outside, sat down on my glider from Lisa Marie Bird and Larry Stewart and with Pheobie beside me I looked at the trees and thanked the LORD for my garden as I remembered how grateful, thankful and blessed I am.
As I sat there thinking about my life I realized how much life I was missing by moving so quickly.
This blog is my digital front porch. It is a quiet corner of the internet dedicated to slowing down, stepping away from the digital noise, and appreciating the simple things right in front of us. Moving forward, you can expect to find regular entries here about:
