I know when a lot of people think about #Thanksgiving they think about food and football. I think about failth, food and family. Along with the tv shows my family grew up watching. This morning for David 2 in our 27 Days of Thanksgiving Shows and Movies I was thinking about classic television, and can you guess which show comes to mind? It’s Happy Days!
I remember being in high school and flipping on the television one day, trying to find something to watch. My mom wasn’t particularly fond of sitcoms, but somehow I stumbled across Happy Days. I started watching, fell in love with the show, and before I knew it, it had become one of those programs my family watched every week even though my dad fussed about it. W as your family like that?
Fast-forward a few years, and when I had Suzzane, she watched Happpy Day right alongside me. Now, here we are years later, and Charlie has probably watched just about every episode at least once, if not two or three times, just as Suzzane did when she was here.
That’s what makes classic television so special. Sometimes it’s not just about the show. It’s about the memories we make while watching it and the people we get to share those memories with.
So, when I think about Thanksgiving, of course I think about the Cunninghams and Mrs. C.! After all, she always wanted everyone to eat their vegetables. And Thanksgiving is full of vegetables, isn’t it? Or at least it should be! Just not in my house, thanks to David and Charlie. LOL!
Today, I’d like to invite you to pull up a chair and join my family as we revisit the Happy Days Thanksgiving episode, which was none as “The First Thanksgiving.” Let’s see what kind of trouble the Cunninghams get into this time, especially Ralph, Potsie, Richie, and the rest of the gang. We always know somebody is going to be up to something, don’t we?
The best part is that the show is only about 30 minutes long. By the time you pop some popcorn, grab your favorite beverage, and settle into your favorite spot, the episode will be over in the blink of an eye. But don’t rush off when the credits roll! Watch another epoxide if you have time because there is always something going on at the Cunningham’s.
Before the show starts put those phones in your pockets, turn off the distractions, and take a little time to talk about the show with your family once its finished. Share your favorite moments, laugh about the trouble the gang got into, and maybe even talk about some of your own Thanksgiving memories.
Because sometimes the best part of Thanksgiving isn’t what’s on the television or even what’s on the dinner table. It’s the people sitting beside us. And those are the memories I’m most thankful for. Happy Thanksgiving watching, friends!
Join me and lets spend about 25 minutes with the Cunningham family? Watching this episode of Happy Days, Season 6, Episode 12, “The First Thanksgiving,” on Philo, which requires a subscription. You can also check the Pluto TV episode listing, although playback availability isn’t confirmed. Unfortunately, this particular episode has reported DVD-only streaming restrictions, so check before settling in with your popcorn.
Now grab your popcorn, pour yourself something good to drink, put those phones away, and enjoy a little Thanksgiving nostalgia with your family. And when the show is over, take a few minutes to talk about your favorite moments. After all, making memories together is what Thanksgiving is all about! ❤️
