Interactive Halloween Gift Guide: Whoever Would Have Thought Ace Hardware Would Become Our Halloween Shopping Destination?

Disclosure: Ace Hardware provided the Halloween bucket and candy for this feature. All opinions and observations are my own.

There are stores that have been around as long as we can remember and for me that is Ace Hardware which I remember shopping at when Suzzane was little and now I still shop there with Charlie not only when we have a project to do but for decorations and gifts for my family.

If you don’t believe me just ask David about all the Garden flags he has had to buy me. Or the spray paint for the projects Charlie and I come up with. Or lawn bags and now our Halloween decorations for the Graveyard I will be creating in my Flower Garden.

Now, I thought I would ask you did you even think Ace Hardware could become your Halloween shopping destination? If not you need to check them out as soon as possible because for my for my family and friends it has and I’m grateful, thankful and blessed that there right up the Street from me.

Ace Hardware is right up in the Aldi shopping center, which is a place we are in and out of more times than Carter has fleas during the week. David and I are in Ace Hardware all the time—probably every other week—so when Ace Hardware reached out and sent me a press release sharing there Halloween Buckets I sent a email back and was surprised as well as grateful, thankful and blessed that they sent me my own Halloween Bucket.

The hard part was keeping David and Charlie from taking my basket but eating my candy as well which is why you will find it sitting on my desk with Halloween decorations in it waiting for the Gift Cards I will be purchasing to add to it for David and Charlie to do there own Halloween shopping with.

I thought about Ace Hardware and I thought about hardware and the Christmas decorations I know they carry. I didn’t realize they had Halloween buckets and all the other Halloween decorations and things I started noticing as I walked through the store.

And let me tell you, it’s a good thing I don’t have any money, because I’d go broke. as I said earlier Ace Hardware sent me one of their new limited-edition Halloween buckets, and it arrived with a box of M&M’s and a bag of Hershey’s chocolates inside. I can’t wait to try the candy!

The bucket itself is black, which happens to be one of Charlie’s favorite colors. It has pumpkins, a little house, and other Halloween designs on it, and I think it is really cute. The bucket holds up to two gallons and is made from durable HDPE.

That means it is sturdy enough to use again while still being light enough for kids to carry while they are collecting all that Halloween candy. And the price is only $3.99. It looks bigger to me than some of the little Halloween buckets I’ve seen at Dollar Tree, although I haven’t measured them side by side, so I’m not going to tell you that it actually is bigger.

For $3.99, though, I think it is a fun option if you’re looking for something a little different. When I saw the bucket, I immediately thought about Charlie and Suzanne. I wish I had known about Halloween buckets like this when they were little.

Because then their Halloween baskets would have been different from every other Tom, Dick, and Harry on the street corner. For my family there is something fun about having a Halloween bucket that isn’t exactly like everybody else’s. And when it only costs a few dollars, that’s even better.

Then afternoon David needed to go get a key made and I started looking Around Ace Hardware website while walking through the Store the funny thing was that receiving the bucket made me start paying attention to what else Ace Hardware has for Halloween.

As I was walking through the store, I started noticing all the decorations and things. And that’s when I started making a mental list of things I want to add to my Halloween decorations next year that I found on there website. Just don’t tell Charlie because he says I don’t need anymore decorations of any kind..

Because I know I’m not going to be able to do all of it this year. But next year? That’s another story. Especially when your husband loves #Halloween as much as I do. One of the first things I noticed was the outdoor pumpkin lights. I want to put them around my flower garden. I think they would be so cute lighting up the garden at night, and they are definitely going on my list for next year.

Then I saw the zombie flamingos. Yes. Zombie flamingos. How fun would those be for Halloween? I don’t know who decided that regular flamingos needed to become zombies for Halloween, but I’m glad somebody thought of it. Those would definitely be fun to have plus they could be my Skeleton’s pets.

And then there are the spider webs. David saw those and said that’s something he wanted to get. So now the Halloween list isn’t just my list anymore. This is what surprised me the most. We are in Ace Hardware all the time. It’s right there by Aldi, and we’re in that shopping center more times during the week than I can count.

Yet I had never really stopped and looked at all the Halloween decorations. Now I know better. And it’s probably a good thing I don’t have a lot of extra money because once I started looking around, I started finding things I wanted. That’s when I thought, Whoever would have thought Ace Hardware would become your Halloween shopping destination? Apparently, it has for my family.

My Halloween Shopping List

Since I already started making a list of things I’d like to have next year, I thought it would be fun to make a little Halloween shopping list for our readers, too.

My Halloween Shopping List:

☐ Halloween Bucket
☐ Outdoor Pumpkin Lights
☐ Zombie Flamingos
☐ Spider Webs
☐ Halloween Candy
☐ Something Fun I Didn’t Expect to Find!

Because isn’t that half the fun of shopping? You go in looking for one thing and end up discovering something you didn’t even know you needed. For now, I’m going to enjoy the Halloween bucket Ace Hardware sent us. I’ll fill it with candy, take some pictures, and enjoy having something a little different for Halloween.

And I’ll probably keep looking at those pumpkin lights. And the zombie flamingos. And the spider webs David wants. So maybe this little $3.99 Halloween bucket did more than give us something to use for Halloween its going to let me create new memories with my family.

It reminded me of when Charlie and Suzanne were little. It showed me something I hadn’t really noticed at a store we visit all the time. And it gave me a head start on my Halloween shopping list for next year. Sometimes you don’t have to go looking for something special.

Sometimes you’re just walking through a store you already shop at, and suddenly you discover a whole new section of things you didn’t know was there. And sometimes a little Halloween surprise brings back a whole lot of memories. For me, Ace Hardware did both.

Whoever would have thought Ace Hardware would become our Halloween shopping destination? Apparently, I just needed to stop and look around.

Thank you, Ace Hardware, for the fun Halloween surprise!
