As much as I love
aAs much as I love my family when it comes to watching movie and TV Shows we are as different as night & day. I love Comedies and Romance movies and #Holiday movies featuring Christmas on the Hallmark Channel, While Charlie likes Anime and shows like Stranger Things and like his dad Horror Movies.
As for David he will watch romantic movies with me and Comedies just like he will watch #Horror films and Anime with Charlie. But one of David’s favorite time of the year is during #Halloween when #Dinsey which is now part of #Freeform hosts 31 Days of Halloween which depending on the movies Charlie and I may watch with David.
Now, I have a question for you. Who’s ready for a little Halloween movie fun? I have a confession to make. I started looking for Disney Halloween movies and discovered that the big television marathon I wanted was hiding under a name I hadn’t been looking for: Freeform’s 31 Nights of Halloween. But it was what used to be Disney. Now I have a question for you. How did I not know that? 😂
Well, now I do, and I’m taking you along for the ride! Welcome to our new Greatful Moments Halloween movie series, where we’re going through Freeform’s October schedule in five-day batches, starting with October 1–5. Which will go inside our Interactive Halloween Gift Guide.
We’ll list the movies scheduled for each date, their original release years, and their television airtimes. We’ll also identify any television shows and specials mixed into the schedule so you know what you’re looking at. But here’s where the fun begins: this isn’t just a television schedule. It’s our family’s movie homework!
I’ll share my thoughts, and we’ll include David’s and Charlie’s opinions, too. Have we seen the movie? Is it a family favorite? Is it something we’ve never heard of? Would we watch it again, or is it going straight onto our must-watch list? You might be surprised by some of our answers.
My family absolutely loves The Addams Family, Beetlejuice, Casper, and The Nightmare Before Christmas. Charlie and I watch some of our favorites every year, while others get enjoyed all year long. Me? I don’t do scary movies. I like a friendly ghost, a funny monster, and a little spooky silliness. There’s a difference between enjoying Halloween fun and wanting to be scared out of my wits!
We’ll also be looking at other places to find Halloween entertainment, including AMC’s FearFest and free streaming options such as Tubi and Pluto TV. Not every family wants a horror marathon, and not every family wants to pay for another streaming subscription. Or at least I don’t want to.
Our goal is to create a Halloween movie guide families can return to year after year. The schedules and airtimes may change, but discovering old favorites, trying something new, and deciding what belongs on our family watchlist never gets old. You can find Freeform’s official 31 Nights of Halloween schedule here.
Now I have a question for you: What’s the one Halloween movie you have to watch every October? Is it a Disney favorite, a comedy, a family classic, or something that actually scares you silly? Share your favorite with us in the comments. We have a whole lot of movie homework ahead of us!
Greatful thoughts: Sometimes the best family traditions begin with an old movie, a bowl of popcorn, and everybody arguing over what to watch next.
