I don’t know about you but I’ve been following Universal Kids Resort which is in Frisco, Texas since before it opened its doors. For me this attraction takes my family right back to the days when not only Charlie but Suzzane was little, and I couldn’t help but smile.
That is exactly what happened to David, Charlie and even my girlfriend Debbie and now we would love to take Austin her honorary grandson because I learned about Universal Kids Resort and I’ve watched my friends take their children, and seeing the characters brought back memories of the characters Charlie grew up watching and enjoying. It even made me think about Suzzane and the things she enjoyed when she was growing up.
Charlie turns 19 this year, so you could say we are a little past the stage Universal Kids Resort was designed for. But that doesn’t mean I wouldn’t love to visit! Honestly, I can picture David and me spending the day walking around, wandering through the different themed lands, taking pictures with characters, and checking out the hotel.
Who knows? Maybe I could even convince Charlie to come along! I could also see my best friend joining me or my niece Lily, who is a little older. Like David, she absolutely loves the Minions and the Smurfs and all those characters many of us grew up with.
Sometimes, an experience doesn’t have to be designed specifically for your family’s current stage of life to catch your attention. Sometimes, it’s about the memories those characters bring back and the possibility of making new ones. So today, I wanted to introduce you to Universal Kids Resort as they announce a new Explorer Ticket for families.
And if I had the money, you can bet your bottom dollar I would be looking at purchasing passes for my family! Right now, our finances don’t allow for that kind of outing, but that doesn’t mean Universal Kids Resort won’t be on my radar. In fact, you may even find it featured in our Christmas Gift Guide/ Wish List this year. I think it could make an unforgettable vacation for families here in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
About: Universal Kids Resort announced a limited-time Explorer Ticket on October 15, 2026. The new ticket gives families another admission option as they plan a visit to the North Texas attraction. According to Universal Kids Resort, the Explorer Ticket is priced at $69.99 per person, plus tax. It is available for purchase from October 15, 2026, through January 6, 2027. Visits are valid Sunday through Thursday through March 11, 2027. Blockout dates may apply, and parking is not included. Families should review the ticket terms and available dates before purchasing to make sure the option works for their plans.
Universal Kids Resort brings together characters and stories from familiar entertainment favorites in themed areas designed with younger children in mind. The announced lands include DreamWorks’ Shrek’s Swamp David would love, Jurassic World Adventure Camp Charlie would have liked, Nickelodeon’s SpongeBob SquarePants Bikini Bottom Suzzane and Mikylia would enjoy, Illumination’s Minions vs. Minions: Bello Bay Club, DreamWorks’ TrollsFest, DreamWorks’ Puss in Boots Del Mar, and Isle of Curiosity featuring DreamWorks’ Gabby’s Dollhouse. Before you ask what I would like well it would be everything.
With attractions, play areas, food and beverage options, character experiences, and souvenirs, there are plenty of things for visiting families to explore. The Universal Kids Resort Hotel is also located just steps away from the park. For me, part of the appeal is seeing familiar characters together in one place. Even when our children grow up, the stories, movies, and characters we shared as a family can still bring back wonderful memories.
In addition to the new Explorer Ticket, Universal Kids Resort has announced several other admission options. Prices below are before tax, and families should check the official website for the latest terms, availability, and restrictions. A one-day general admission ticket starts at $49.99 per person, with admission for a selected date. Parking is not included.
A two-day general admission ticket starts at $73.99 per person, for selected visit dates. Parking is not included. The Silver Annual Pass is listed at $129.99 plus tax and provides 12 months of general admission, subject to blockout dates. Parking is not included.
The Silver Annual Pass with Parking is listed at $164.99 plus tax and includes 12 months of general admission, subject to blockout dates, along with parking. The Gold Annual Pass is listed at $199.99 plus tax. Benefits include 12 months of general admission, parking, select merchandise and food and beverage discounts, and discounts on certain park tickets and select products. Restrictions and terms apply. Since ticket prices, dates, and benefits can change, be sure to confirm the details directly with Universal Kids Resort before making a purchase.
As someone who loves finding experiences families can enjoy together, I can see why Universal Kids Resort might be worth considering for a Christmas gift. Rather than giving another item that eventually gets put away, a family could have a vacation to look forward to and memories to make together.
It could be especially appealing to families with younger children who love these characters. And, as I have already admitted, I wouldn’t mind visiting myself! I would enjoy walking around with David, seeing the themed lands, looking at the hotel, and taking in all the familiar characters. If Charlie or Lily came along, that would make the day even more special.
Of course, every family’s budget is different. I always encourage readers to look at the complete cost of an outing, including admission, parking if needed, food, souvenirs, and travel expenses, before deciding whether it fits their plans. For North Texas families considering a visit, the new Explorer Ticket may be another option to explore.

At Greatful Moments, we love sharing family experiences, entertainment, attractions, and gift ideas that help readers discover ways to make memories together. Universal Kids Resort has certainly caught my attention, and I hope to have the opportunity to experience it someday.
I will be asking Santa to add this to his Wish List as he’s loading the sleigh this year because I have a couple nieces and nephews and a grandson who would enjoy visiting here and a couple adults as well. How about you. Would you like to visit this fun attraction?
Grateful, Thankful, and Blessed.
