Tutankhamun and the Golden Age of the Pharaohs
Age Range: 10-18 (Grades 5-12, with parental supervision) Visit the Valley of the Kings with this virtual field trip from the Field Museum in Chicago, Illinois. Visitors will learn about the Golden Age of the Pharaohs, examine Egyptian funeral artifacts, and discover the stories surrounding the pharaohs.
After reading the introduction, select the “Begin your Exploration” text link and a new window opens for you to start the interactive tour. Follow the instructions to navigate through the tour. Choose your destination by clicking one of the choices on the map:

  • Tomb of Yuya and Tjyu
  • Tomb of Tuthmosis IV
  • Tomb of Amenhotep II
  • Tomb of Tutankhamun

While all the tours contain images and interesting information about the king, the tour for King Tut provides much more detail about this Pharoah.

When you are finished examining the tombs, go back to the home page and dig deeper by using the right-hand menu options to learn more about King Tut, examine additional artifacts, explore the photo gallery, and to find the answers to some of the most common questions about King Tutankhamun.

This site is an excellent addition to studies of Egypt and mummies.
