I was cleaning off my desk this morning and thinking about my Garden and how the flowers have died which I miss. I begin to pick up my desk and I came across Beautiful Blooms with the beautiful Flowers on the cover I know my mother in law Sherry would like. I don’t know about you but for me there are some books I pick up and immediately start reading, and then there are books I pick up and just look at.

The Flower Press Studio Wrapping Paper Book: Beautiful Blooms is definitely one of those books just pick up and look through again and again. As soon as I opened the book, I knew this wasn’t going to be ordinary wrapping paper. It felt more like opening a little garden that had somehow been tucked between the pages of a book.

And if you know me, you know I love flowers, pretty things, and anything that can take an ordinary gift and make it feel a little more special. The book contains 12 perforated sheets that detach from the book and unfold to approximately 19 5/8 inches by 25 3/4 inches. The sheets are printed on one side, giving you a generous piece of wrapping paper for birthdays, holidays, showers, graduations, back-to-school gifts, Mother’s Day, Christmas and all those little occasions when you want a present to look extra special.

And then there are the gift tags. The book includes 25 matching gift tag stickers, each with its own floral design. They are a beautiful cream color, and each one has a different flower on it with a place for the “To” and “From.” I immediately started thinking beyond Christmas presents when looking through the book.

The Gift tags could be used in Back-to-School Lunches and the flower tags would be adorable for back-to-school surprises. Imagine putting a little note on your child’s lunch: “Have a great day!” “You’ve got this!” “I’m proud of you!” ” love you” or I missed you while you where gone. Or even just their name.

You could attach one of the Gift Tags to a lunchbox treat, a small gift, a teacher gift or a first-day-of-school surprise. Sometimes it’s those tiny unexpected touches that children remember. This is why you will find Beautiful Blooms inside our back to School Gift Guide, our Summer Gift Guide and our upcoming Holiday Gift Guides including Christmas.

When you first open the book, one of the designs that caught my eye was a dark, almost black background covered with beautiful white flowers and little pops of yellow and purple. It is absolutely gorgeous. And that’s the funny thing about this book. There are only 12 wrapping paper sheets, but I could honestly sit and look through them for hours.

Every page has something different to discover. The flowers and arrangements have so much color and personality that you almost forget you’re looking at wrapping paper. You’re looking at artwork. These aren’t the generic rolls of wrapping paper you grab because you need something to wrap a present. These are the kind of designs that make you stop and say: “Wow.”

The Gift Tags are a fun little bonus The 25 floral gift tags are tucked toward the back of the book. Each one has a different flower design, and I think it would actually be fun to see if you could identify all of the flowers. That could turn into a little family activity. Sit down with the book, look at the flowers, and see how many you can name.

And because the tags are designed to be attached to your wrapped gifts, you’ll want a little piece of tape handy if you’re using them on your presents. But again, I’m already thinking of other ways to use them. Lunchbox notes. Small teacher gifts. A little “thinking of you” surprise. A flower tag tied onto a bouquet. A birthday present. A gift for someone who loves gardening. Sometimes a pretty little tag is all it takes to make something ordinary feel special.

The book comes from Flower Press Studio which began as a backyard garden project in Denver, Colorado, during the summer of 2020, when founders Rachel Parri and Keith Kralik began pressing wildflowers. Which I wish I knew how to do. I can tell you Charlie would probably tell you that 2020 was before the dinosaurs roamed the earth because he is one funny kid ie adult.

But what started as a backyard project grew into a business centered around preserving seasonal blooms as pressed-flower art and working with local flower farmers and makers. Today, Flower Press Studio is based in the North Fork Valley of Paonia, Colorado, drawing inspiration from its gardens, Colorado flower farms, farms beyond Colorado, and the natural world around them.

I love stories like this. Someone sees something beautiful growing in a garden and thinks, What if I could preserve this? Then that little idea grows into something people around the country can enjoy. Creating a book for Flower Lovers, Gardeners and Gift Givers. Remember you don’t have to be a gardener to appreciate this book. You don’t even have to be someone who loves wrapping presents.

If you appreciate beautiful flowers, color, artwork or handmade-inspired designs, there is something here that will probably catch your eye. And if you are a gardener or flower lover, I think you’ll appreciate the thought that goes into preserving the beauty of seasonal flowers. The flowers used as inspiration are picked at the height of their season, capturing the colors and energy of a beautiful bouquet. That comes through in the finished designs.

I thought I would share ways you could use Beautiful Blooms for because I’m thinking beyond Christmas. You could use these sheets for: Birthday presents, Teacher gifts, Graduation gifts, Baby showers, Mother’s Day, Valentine’s Day, Wedding or bridal shower gifts, Housewarming presents, Garden-lover gifts, Back-to-school surprises, Holiday gifts, “Just because” presents and because the paper is already presented in a book, you don’t have to find a place to store a giant roll of wrapping paper. Just pull out the sheet you want when you need it. The book also makes a nice gift on it’s own.

I think my favorite part may actually be that this book makes wrapping a gift feel like part of the gift. You know how sometimes you find the perfect present but then wrap it in whatever paper happens to be sitting in the closet? This gives you a chance to make the outside just as beautiful as what’s inside. And honestly, I can see myself buying this for someone who loves flowers and then wondering if I should actually wrap their present with it because I might want to keep the book!

The Flower Press Studio Wrapping Paper Book: Beautiful Blooms includes: 12 illustrated wrapping paper sheets that is one sided. 25 matching floral gift tag stickers. Perforated sheets that detach from the book. Sheets unfold to approximately 19 5/8″ x 25 3/4″ The U.S. price is listed at $19.99, with a Canadian price of $25.99. The book is an imprint of Workman Publishing, a division of Hachette Book Group, Inc. You can also learn more about Flower Press Studio and its work through Artesian Books.

Would I Recommend It? Absolutely. If you’re looking for something different from traditional wrapping paper, this is a beautiful option. If you’re putting together a Back-to-School Gift Guide, I would definitely consider this one for teacher gifts, small surprises and those little first-day-of-school treats.

It also fits beautifully into a Summer Gift Guide, especially for anyone who loves flowers, gardening, crafts or beautiful paper goods. And here’s another reason I like it for August: It could help you get a jump start on your holiday shopping. Christmas has a funny way of sneaking up on us. Buying something like this early means you already have beautiful wrapping paper tucked away when December arrives.

So whether you’re wrapping a birthday present tomorrow, putting together a teacher gift next week, or getting a head start on Christmas shopping, The Flower Press Studio Wrapping Paper Book gives you 12 chances to make a gift look beautiful. And who knows? Maybe you’ll do what I did. Open the book… Turn the pages… Look at the flowers… And say: “Wow.”
