Spencer Goes to School (Spencer the Cat)
This is a review for the children’s book Spencer Goes to School (Spencer the Cat) which is written by Michelle Romo.
I sat down this morning to prepare lesson plans for Charlie to use in next weeks Lesson Plans. When Charlie will be teaching class for the week. I wanted Charlie to start with Kindergarteners and progress through each grade.
In kindergarten I sat out Spencer Goes to School to read in his Kindergarten and Pre-School Classes. Charlie will be able to teach the students simple vocabulary words using the plot it in the book. The kids can discuss Cats and why they should or shouldn’t go to school.
In Art Class they can draw Cats and things the students like about them and what they wish a Cat can and can’t do. In music class they can sing The Wheels On The Bus and the Alphabet song from things mentioned in the book.
The kids can look up the different Animals in the book including a Alpaca and share facts about them. In Art Class just like in the book the kids can draw there Pets. Then the children can paint or color the Pets they drew.
If you have children of any age they will enjoy Spencer Goes to School and learn so much from the book making it the perfect addition to school libraries. Parents will also enjoy Spencer Goes to School and how easy it is to read while teaching children easy vocabulary words in this board book.
