Man on man I’ve telling you the other day David and I had plans to run in and out of Walmart because we only needed a couple items. We knew where they were located in the Store so we should have been in and out in 10 minutes. Man, oh man was I wrong and let me tell you I do not plan on going back to that Walmart ever. Neither does my mother in law since they changed it.
For my family sometimes the simplest shopping trips turn into adventures I never expected. In my case, all I wanted was a bra. You would think that wouldn’t be too difficult, but after our recent trip to Walmart, I can tell you that finding the right one was quite an adventure!
As I shared in my Walmart shopping story, David and I headed to the Beach Street Walmart to pick up a few things. I needed a replacement bra, and finding one turned into a much longer search than I ever expected. But eventually, we found one: the Playtex 18-Hour Easy On front-closure cushion-strap bra, Style 1107, labeled Just My Size on the Walmart packaging.
After all that searching, I was certainly hoping this bra would be worth the trouble! Which sometimes I’m still questioning that bra. The first thing I noticed was how comfortable this bra felt. Sometimes, you buy something because you need it, but that doesn’t mean you’re going to love wearing it. Thankfully, this purchase turned out to be a pleasant surprise.
The bra is wire-free, which I love, and the cushioned straps are comfortable and stay in place. I don’t have to keep pulling them back up or adjusting them throughout the day. That’s a big plus for me! Plus, part of me isn’t pouching out the side of the bra which I hate/
I also like the soft satin stretch back. It gives the bra a pretty, classy look without sacrificing comfort. I want my everyday clothing to feel good, but I also appreciate a little something pretty in my wardrobe. When the bra is on you can’t even tell because it doesn’t bunch up/
Another thing I appreciate is the fit. The bra fits me well without coming up too high under my arms, and I haven’t had the pinching and bunching that can make wearing a bra uncomfortable. It works well under both casual and dressier outfits, and I can wear it under tank tops, too.
One feature I really appreciate is the front closure. The snaps are easy to fasten and unfasten, which makes getting dressed and undressed more convenient. My only little challenge is being able to see the snaps clearly when I’m fastening them. That’s a personal difficulty for me, but once I get them lined up, the closure itself is straightforward to use.
I like having a bra that feels secure and comfortable without making getting dressed more complicated than it needs to be. Now the next question is was it worth the Walmart Shopping Adventure? Let me put it this way: the bra wasn’t the problem. Finding it was! The bra section at the Beach Street Walmart felt crowded, and the sizes weren’t arranged in a way that made shopping easy. When you’re trying to find your size among bras that aren’t neatly separated, the experience can become frustrating and embarrassing.
David helped me look, and for me that is embarrassing because I don’t like admitting what size bra I need. I wonder if Dolly has ever felt like that? Through it all I am grateful David was with me because he can reach up higher than I can and get down low which I can’t do and when looking for my bra we had to do both.
Another thing that frustrated me about this shopping trip was I swear in the past they had other brands of bras in boxes I used to purchase but all I could find was Playtex or bras hanging out in the open on the racks and I didn’t feel comfortable shopping looking for those.
But I did find what I wanted and it was cheaper than Victoria’s Secret or Lan Bryants so I guess this shopping trip was a success because I got a new bra. As well as finding out how supportive David can be in a situation that made me feel uncomfortable reminding me how loved I am.
Grateful. Thankful. Blessed.
