I don’t know about in your home but here its been getting busier and busier the closer to the #Holidays we get. So I wanted to let you know with Halloween • Fall • Thanksgiving • Christmas are coming—and we know how busy this time of year can become!
Between school, work, family, shopping, decorating, cooking, church, activities, and all the other things that fill our calendars, we don’t want our GreatfulMoments holiday activities to feel like one more thing you have to get done.
So we’re making a change. Hopefully for the better. Starting with our weekend posts, we’re going to combine our Interactive Halloween, Fall, Thanksgiving, and Christmas activities into one weekend holiday challenge.
Before you ask what about the tickets we could earn. Hold on Buttercup we will explain. This means you won’t have four separate holiday activities staring at you every weekend. Instead, we’ll give you choices from all four seasons and holidays—and you choose what you want to do.
This is probably the most important part of our new plan: You do NOT have to complete every activity. Especially for those of you who don’t celebrate Halloween skip it and just do the Fall, Thanksgiving and Christmas activities.
Something else we wanted to stress is you don’t have to finish every activity we list. You choose what sounds fun for you and your family. Maybe you’re ready for Halloween or you’re still enjoying fall. Maybe Thanksgiving is already on your mind. Or maybe you’re a Christmas person who is already making lists! Pick what works for your family.
How Weekend Tickets Work– Our combined weekend challenge can earn you up to 8 tickets.
2 Tickets — Complete the Weekend Activity- Your chosen activity is designed to be completed over the weekend.
You earn: 1 ticket for Saturday and 1 ticket for Sunday
That’s 2 tickets for completing your chosen weekend activity.
4 Tickets — Read for 20 Minutes– Spend 20 minutes reading over the weekend. That can be a book, a cookbook, a magazine, a favorite story, or another age-appropriate reading choice. For that 20 minutes of reading you ear 2 tickets.=
If you complete the activity and reading for both days you have 4 tickets. You can read all at once or split your reading time between Saturday and Sunday. Then you will earn 2 Bonus Tickets — when you Complete both your chosen activity AND the 20-minute reading challenge.
On any weekend this gives you the opportunity to win 8 Tickets. Here is how it breaks down. 2 activity tickets + 4 reading tickets + 2 bonus tickets = 8 tickets And remember: You don’t have to earn all 8 tickets. Do what works for you and your family.

- Create a Halloween bucket list.
- Draw a spooky Halloween picture.
- Make a list of your favorite Halloween treats.
- Invent your own Halloween monster.
- Write a short spooky story.
Fall Choices: Choose one:
- Make a fall bucket list.
- Go on a fall scavenger hunt.
- Draw a picture of your perfect fall day.
- Make a list of things you love about autumn.
- Find five signs that fall is arriving.
- Create your own fall tradition.
Thanksgiving Choices: Choose one:
- Make a gratitude list.
- Draw your Thanksgiving table.
- Write about your favorite Thanksgiving memory.
- Make a list of people you are thankful for.
- Create a Thanksgiving placemat.
- Help your family make a Thanksgiving preparation list.
Christmas: Choose one:
- Make a Christmas wish list.
- Design your dream Christmas tree.
- Write a letter to Santa.
- Make a Christmas movie list.
- Create a Christmas bucket list.
- Draw your perfect Christmas morning.
Then it’s time to read: Choose something you enjoy reading.

Read for 20 minutes = 4 tickets.
Remember: This Is Supposed to Be Fun!
Our weekend holiday challenges aren’t homework. They’re not a checklist that you have to finish. They’re an invitation to read, create, play, explore, and make memories together. Choose one activity. Read if you can. Earn the tickets you want to earn. And if you don’t get everything done this weekend? That’s okay, too.
The holidays are about enjoying time with the people we love—not rushing through a list of things we’re supposed to accomplish. So pull up a chair, choose your adventure, and make some Greatful Moments.
