Lovingly Baked Moshi Rice Nuggets Teriyaki Review: A Crunchy Snack for Halloween, Christmas, and Everyday Life

The other day Bradley and Charlie were home getting ready for work and they were hungry. I found them downstairs in the kitchen looking for a snack. I handed Bradley Mosi Rice and after reading the package he said he would try it.

In your family sometimes a product arrives as part of another review and ends up deserving a little attention of its own. That is exactly what happened with the Lovingly Baked Moshi Rice Nuggets in Teriyaki flavor once the boys tried it out.

These came to us along with another product we were reviewing, but after looking at the package and learning more about them, I knew they needed their own review. They aren’t just another snack. They are the kind of product that can fit into several different parts of family life—from an everyday snack to a teacher gift, Halloween treat, or Christmas stocking stuffer.

Moshi Rice Nuggets are baked lovingly by Woodbridge Snacks using short-grain white rice. The rice is baked until it becomes a light, delicate, crispy snack. The boys thought having a snack made from rice was cool. For me being on a diet to lose weight this is the perfect snack.

The Teriyaki variety brings together notes of soy sauce and sake with hints of ginger and sugar for an Asian-inspired flavor. It has that savory-sweet combination that makes it a little different from the usual crackers, chips, and traditional snack foods.

I didn’t think I would care for the Teriyaki flavor but it wasn’t bad and once in a while I wouldn’t mind having these. Charlie also said the flavor wasn’t bad and it would be okay once in a while. David and Bradley liked them a lot and asked me to purchase more for them.

The package describes them as lovingly baked, and I really like the delicate crispness of the nuggets. They give you that satisfying crunch without feeling like you’re eating a heavy snack.

Teriyaki is a flavor I think a lot of people will recognize for other dishes they’ve eaten, but these rice nuggets put a slightly different spin on it. You get the savory notes of soy sauce along with sweetness, ginger, and the other flavors that give teriyaki its distinctive taste.

If you enjoy Asian-inspired flavors or simply like trying something different, these are worth putting on your snack list. And because they’re little rice nuggets rather than a traditional chip or cracker, they also feel like something new.

One of the first things I noticed from being on a diet on the package was the nutrition information. Each serving contains: 100 calories. 0 grams total fat. 0 grams saturated fat. 0 mg cholesterol. 3 grams sugar

Those numbers caught my attention for several reasons. I’m always interested in finding snacks that I can work into my own eating plan, and a 100-calorie serving with no total fat and only 3 grams of sugar is something I appreciate. I also immediately thought about my family.

David pays attention to foods that contain sodium, so nutrition information is something we look at when choosing foods for our home. And my mother-in-law has to be mindful of sugar, which makes the 3 grams of sugar per serving another detail that stood out to me.

Of course, everyone’s dietary needs are different, so always check the package and nutrition information for yourself. But I appreciate having all of that information clearly available.

Another thing that made these stand out to me is that the package identifies them as gluten-free and non-GMO. That matters in our family because my sister can only have gluten-free snacks, so when I find a product that offers another option for her, I pay attention.

I also like that the package includes a QR code so consumers can learn more about the product. Being able to find additional information directly from the package is always a nice touch.

This is where I think the Moshi Rice Nuggets become especially interesting. When I started thinking about these beyond the original review, I realized they could work in several of our seasonal gift guides.

For Back-to-School, I could see them being included in a teacher appreciation basket or a gift for school staff. Teachers and staff members often receive plenty of sweets, so giving a savory snack can be a nice change. Inside a child’s lunch box giving them a healthy snack.

For summer, they could be included in a snack basket or simply kept on hand for those times when everyone wants something crunchy. But then I started thinking about Halloween and Christmas.

Halloween doesn’t always have to mean another handful of candy. If you’re looking for something different to hand out, these could be an interesting savory alternative. Instead of adding another chocolate bar or piece of candy to a child’s bag, why not give them a crispy rice snack?

Of course, whether you can hand out a particular packaged food depends on your neighborhood, school, event, and local Halloween rules, but for appropriate settings, I love the idea of offering families something different. It could also be a fun addition to a Halloween party snack table.

And then there is Christmas. I can absolutely see these tucked inside a Christmas stocking. Sometimes stocking stuffers become a collection of tiny things that people don’t really need. A snack they can actually eat can be a much more useful surprise.

Moshi Rice Nuggets could also go into a Christmas gift basket, a food-themed gift, or a little care package for someone who enjoys discovering new snacks. That’s what I like about this product. It doesn’t have to be a traditional “gift” to make a nice addition to a gift.

I wasn’t expecting a package of rice nuggets that arrived with another product review to turn into a product that I could picture using in so many different ways. But that’s one of the things I love about reviewing products. Sometimes the unexpected products are the ones that give us the most ideas.

The Lovingly Baked Moshi Rice Nuggets in Teriyaki flavor offer a delicate crunch, an interesting savory-sweet flavor, and nutrition information that caught my attention. They’re gluten-free and non-GMO, have 100 calories per serving, zero grams of total fat, zero grams of saturated fat, zero cholesterol, and 3 grams of sugar per serving.

For us, I can see these being an everyday snack, something different for Halloween, a Christmas stocking stuffer, or even part of a teacher or school-staff gift. and a lunch box treat.
