JIMMY Movie Offers Free Tickets to Veterans, Military Families, and First Responders Through Vet Tix

When I saw this announcement from Vet Tix about the new movie JIMMY, I knew I wanted to share it on Greatful Moments because military service is part of my own family’s story. But not only that this is one movie I plan on seeing with my family if I’m able to.

My dad was a veteran, and I was born off Carswell Air Force Base. My father-in-law was a veteran, my brother-in-law is a veteran, and my daughter Leslie’s husband is a veteran, too. So when I see an organization finding ways to give back to veterans, service members, first responders, and their families, it means something to me personally.

I think being able to go to a movie together might seem like a small thing to some people, but families make memories in those everyday moments. An evening at the theater gives everyone a chance to sit back, enjoy a story, and spend time together. That’s why I wanted to share this announcement from Vet Tix and let other families know about the opportunity to see a movie honoring a man who served his country both on and off the screen.

Vet Tix Announces First $1 Million in Free Tickets for JIMMY

Announcement provided by Veteran Tickets Foundation (Vet Tix), October 9, 2026.

The Veteran Tickets Foundation, known as Vet Tix, announced that its JIMMY Give Back campaign has reached its first $1 million in free movie tickets for service members, veterans, first responders, and their families. The tickets support the nationwide theatrical release of JIMMY, a new motion picture about legendary actor and World War II veteran Jimmy Stewart. The film is scheduled to open in theaters on November 6, 2026.

Thanks to the generosity of donors and corporate supporters, eligible recipients can receive free tickets through Vet Tix to experience the film in theaters. The organization will continue accepting donations through the end of October and anticipates another release of tickets in November. The Story of Jimmy Stewart– Starring KJ Apa as Jimmy Stewart, JIMMY tells the story of the beloved Hollywood actor who put his successful entertainment career aside to serve his country during World War II.

According to the announcement, Stewart flew 20 combat missions over Europe with the U.S. Army Air Forces. His commitment to military service continued long after the war, and he eventually rose to the rank of brigadier general in the U.S. Air Force Reserve. Although many people remember Stewart for his memorable performances in classic films, his military service is an important part of his legacy.

His daughter, Kelly Stewart Harcourt, who serves as executive producer of the film, shared how meaningful it would have been to her father to know that veterans, active military members, first responders, and their families could experience the movie through the generosity of others. The film offers audiences an opportunity to learn more about the man behind the familiar Hollywood face and the service that shaped another part of his life.

Donors and Businesses Come Together to Give Back- The JIMMY Give Back campaign has received support from individuals, businesses, and organizations that want to recognize America’s military community and first responders. Donors named in the announcement include California Commerce Club, Citizen Watch America, Eight & Bob, Hanks for Our Troops, The Jimmy Stewart Museum, Justin Boots, Marcus & Mack, Montemoro, the National Football League, Papaian Studios, and White Castle.

Michael A. Focatero III, founder and CEO of Vet Tix and a U.S. Navy veteran, explained that the campaign gives families an opportunity to experience Stewart’s story together during the Veterans Day season. Jason Brenek, CEO of Fathom Entertainment, also praised the generosity of Vet Tix and its donors in helping America’s heroes see the film on the big screen. It’s encouraging to see different organizations working together to make this experience possible for people who have served their communities and their country.

My Thoughts: Growing up with a dad who served in the military, and having other veterans in my family, makes stories like this especially meaningful to me. Military service affects more than the person wearing the uniform. It touches spouses, children, parents, and the entire family.

I appreciate seeing organizations and donors find ways to recognize those sacrifices. Sometimes giving back means meeting a family’s immediate needs, and sometimes it means giving them the opportunity to enjoy an evening together and make memories. Jimmy Stewart was a familiar face in Hollywood, but his service to his country was another important part of his life. I think it’s worth remembering both the actor audiences loved and the serviceman who answered the call when his country needed him.

If you’re eligible for Vet Tix or know someone who might be, I hope you’ll share this information with them so they can learn more about the program and check whether tickets are available in their area. Thank you for stopping by Greatful Moments. We believe in celebrating faith, family, entertainment, and the people who make a difference in our lives and communities.

Grateful, Thankful, and Blessed.
