Even though I’m adamant about celebrating one #Holiday at a time as much as I hate to admit it Halloween has officially started making its way into my home. Including decorations David picked up for me the other day.
Well… sort of. Nothing is actually decorated yet. In fact, everything I’ve picked up so far is sitting in one particular spot, waiting patiently for October 1st. But that doesn’t mean the Halloween shopping hasn’t started.
And that means it is time to officially announce something new here at GreatfulMoments.com: Our 2026 Halloween Gift Guide! This isn’t going to be one of those gift guides where I sit down, pick a bunch of things from a catalog, and tell you that you need to buy them.
This guide is going to be about the things we actually find. The decorations that catch my eye while I’m grocery shopping. The bargain finds that make me stop at Ollie’s. The little things that remind me of somebody in our family.
The Halloween food and treats we discover. Including books, toys, crafts, gifts, decorations, collectibles, and all those fun little things that make Halloween feel like Halloween.
Some will be things I buy. Some may be things I see and think are worth sharing. And some will probably be things that make me say, “I don’t need this… but look how cute it is!” Because that’s how Halloween shopping works around here.
And this year, we’re starting earlier than we normally would. Usually, I don’t even want to think too much about Halloween this early. It is still August, after all. I’m still looking for fall, and sometimes I feel like stores skip right over the season I am actually trying to find.
But when you can’t find fall, you do what you have to do. You start looking at Halloween. And that’s exactly what happened. I’ve already found some decorations that I couldn’t leave behind, and those are going to be the first official finds in our 2026 Halloween Gift Guide.
But they won’t be the last. This guide is going to grow as we shop. As we find bargains. As new Halloween merchandise appears. As I discover something that reminds me of our family.
And maybe even as I dig through some of the Halloween decorations we already have. Although, if you ask Mr. Grinch, we have enough Halloween decorations already. And he has made it very clear that he does not want to dig out thousands and thousands and thousands of them this year.
We’ll see how that goes. Because I know me. And I know Halloween. So consider this our official invitation to come along with us. We’ll shop a little. We’ll remember a little. We’ll laugh a little.
And we’ll see what Halloween finds its way home with us this year. The 2026 Halloween Gift Guide starts now. And our very first finds? Those are coming next.
Grateful, Thankful, and Blessed.
Thank you,
Glenda, Charlie and David Cates
