Homeschool Resource: Children’s Books on Geocoaching

August 16th was International Geocaching Day #GeocachingDay which was a teaching moment for my family. Even though Charlie has finished school I believe we should learn something new everyday. I was familiar with geocaching and had to look up what it was.

I wish I had knew about it when we were #Homeschooling Charlie full time but I didn’t. But geocaching sounds like a great way to get my family outside and off electronics for a while. I found the following books for my family to read so we will know what to do when geocaching..

• For a hands-on guide that teaches kids how to use GPS and learn orienteering, Let’s Go Geocaching (DK Readers, Level 3: Boys’ Life) is a great pick.
• If your child enjoys Q&A-style learning with visual aids, Curious About The Great Outdoors Curious About Geocaching (Hardcover) offers infographics, glossary, and research tips to make geocaching accessible and fun.
• For a more conversational and curiosity-driven approach, Curious About Geocaching by Rachel Grack (Paperback) uses questions like “Are they hard to find?” to spark interest and guide beginners through their first geocache hunt.
