Helluva Good! French Onion Dip Review: A Creamy Snack-Time Favorite

The other day I was wanting some Chips and couldn’t find what I was looking for, David surprised me when he was in Walmart with Frito’s Scoops, Bean Dip and French Onion Dip and he made Ranch for himself and Charlie. For my family there’s just something about a good French onion dip paired with crunchy chips that makes snack time a little more enjoyable. David purchased Helluva Good! French Onion Dip, and I have to admit, I was pleasantly surprised.

Growing up, my family always bought Dean’s French Onion Dip, so that’s the flavor I was used to. I racked my brain to see if I could remember having Helluva Good! French Onion Dip and I believe this may have been my first time trying the dip and it definitely made a good first impression.

I like how this dip is made with real milk and sour cream, the dip has a rich, creamy texture that’s smooth and easy to scoop. The onion flavor is well-balanced—not too strong and not too mild. It has just enough savory flavor to keep you reaching for another chip.

I paired mine with Frito Scoops, and they were the perfect combination. The sturdy chips held plenty of dip without breaking, making every bite satisfying. The next time we purchase this dip I want to try them with Ruffles Original Chips or even Lay’s Chips. What Chips would you use and why?

Let’s be honest, though—most of us probably enjoy a little more than the suggested serving size when we’re watching a movie or cheering on our favorite team! That’s something to keep in mind if you’re counting calories which with my diet I should be doing but I must admit I’m not.

What I Liked

• This dip is rich and it has a creamy texture
• The delicious French onion flavor isn’t overpowering even David will eat it
• This French Onion Dip pairs perfectly with chips, crackers, or fresh vegetables
• I like how the dip sticks to anything you put it on.
• Great for parties, family gatherings, or game nights

What Could Be Better– The only downside is that it’s so easy to keep dipping! Portion control can be a challenge because it’s genuinely that good.

Final Thoughts

I was expecting to miss my usual brand of French Onion Dip, but this dip completely changed my mind. It’s creamy, flavorful, and exactly what I want in a classic French onion dip.

Whether you’re hosting friends, packing snacks for a weekend getaway, or simply enjoying a quiet evening at home, Helluva Good! French Onion Dip is a delicious addition to your snack table and I can’t wait to try other varieties of there dips.
