I was straightening up the Coffee Nook/ Breakfast are this morning and I was moving things around. Including the dish organizer I had gotten from Aldi’s for the kitchen. For my family the best organization solutions come from looking at things a little differently.

As I continue my Grace to Grace, Room by Room journey, today I’m sharing my Aldi kitchen organizer and how we found a new purpose for it in our home. Because my kitchen is so tiny and there isn’t a lot of kitchen space.

This organizer was originally designed to help organize kitchen items. The idea was to pull out the drawer and store bowls inside while keeping plates organized on top. It’s a great concept for helping maximize kitchen cabinet or counter space.

However, when we brought it home, we realized our kitchen space was limited and it wasn’t going to work the way I wanted it to. David was like give it away or throw it away but get it out of the kitchen.

I knew I wasn’t going to do either of those things I just needed to use it differently. Instead of staying in the kitchen, it found a new home upstairs. In my Kitchen/ Coffee Nook but it would also work on the back porch to keep our plates and bowls when we eat outside.

For me finding new ways to use things is one of my favorite things about useful household items—they don’t always have to be used exactly the way they were originally intended. If you think outside the box.

Now this organizer helps us with snack storage. It gives us a place to keep items organized and easy to find, including Charlie’s Pop-Tart snacks. Inside it I keep Charlie’s snacks for his lunches.

I also usually like to decorate the top of it and add a little personality to the space, but sometimes real life happens, and not every corner is perfectly finished at the same time. A home is lived in, and that’s part of what makes it special.

This piece is a great example of making what you have work for your family. Instead of sitting unused because it didn’t fit our original plan, it became a helpful storage solution somewhere else.

Creating a home isn’t always about buying something new. Sometimes it’s about seeing the potential in what you already have and finding a way to make it work. Grace by Grace Room by room, we continue making our home more functional, organized, and filled with the things that matter.
