This morning, I woke up to find that GreatfulMoments.com was down again. After yesterday, I was stressed, frustrated, angry, and, honestly, a little furious. When you put your heart and soul into something, it’s hard not to worry when things go wrong. But this morning, the Lord reminded me of something in the most unexpected way.
The other day, we unexpectedly discovered a Mardel’s over on Pipeline Road that we didn’t even know was there. I found a little sign for Charlie’s room that cost just $1.79. One of those little God moments that makes you smile because you weren’t even looking for it. The sign says, “You Got This.”
And there’s another sign I had bought for the Coffee Nook/ Breakfast Nook from Hobby Lobby David had sat on my desk when he was cleaning up the bedroom. This sign says “Fueled by Coffee and Jesus.” Well, wouldn’t you know it? This morning, as I was getting ready to make my coffee, those words came right back to me. And I thought, You know what, Lord? You’re right. I’ve got this.
Not because I can fix everything myself. Not because I have all the answers. But because I don’t have to carry every worry on my shoulders. I can put things in the Lord’s hands, do the work that’s mine to do, and trust Him with the rest. My website may be having problems, but that doesn’t mean my whole day has to fall apart with it.
I’ve continued writing posts, and I’ve got them stacked up and ready. I’ve worked on my swagbucks, gotten my house cleaned, and made plans for dinner. I’m going to get my ribs on and this time I think I will cook them in the oven, ask Gerald if he can peel my potatoes early so I can fry them later, and make sure I’m taking care of the things right here at home. I’m even going to turn off the air conditioner for a while, make my coffee, and sit down to watch some of my shows.
Do you know what? I’ve been so focused on Greatful Moments that I haven’t been giving myself and my family the time and attention we need. My blog matters to me, and I’m not giving up on it. But my life is bigger than my website, and I need to remember that, too.
Sometimes we get so caught up trying to fix everything that we forget to stop and enjoy the blessings already sitting right in front of us. Today, I’m choosing to do things a little differently. I’m going to make a list of the shows that are back on Paramount+ and I’m going to work through them one at a time which will lead to new reviews.
I’m going to stop fighting battles that aren’t mine to fight. Charlie is grown, and he has to make his own decisions and take responsibility for them. I love him, and I will always care about him, but I cannot make every decision for him. I have to let him learn to manage his own responsibilities while I focus on mine.
I’m going to check on David, take care of my home, spend some time with my dog Phoebie, finish my second book review for today, and then go sit on my bed and watch Blue Bloods. Maybe I’ll watch Fire Country, too, or save it for tomorrow so I can enjoy the new episode tonight.
And somewhere in the middle of all that, I’m going to work toward my 100 Swagbucks for the day. One thing at a time! I’m not going to spend today fussing, worrying, or crying over things I cannot control. I’m not going to let a website problem steal the joy out of a Sunday the Lord has given me.
I’m placing Greatful Moments in His hands and trusting that, somehow and some way, we’ll get through this, too. That little $1.79 sign has turned into a much bigger reminder for me. I’ve got this because I don’t have to do it all alone. I have the LORD and my friends and family and my dogs which keeps me Grateful. Thankful and Blessed.
I have my faith. I have my family. I have a home to care for, a husband to love, and a son I adore and a dog to keep me company, work that gives me purpose, and another day to make the most of. And I have my coffee. LOL Along with my Milo’s Sweet Tea David bought me.
So today, I’m choosing peace over panic, faith over fear, and gratitude over frustration. I want you to know that I’m grateful, thankful, and blessed that you’re part of my life. Thank you for being here, for reading my stories, and for sharing this journey with me. I love you, and if there’s ever anything I can help you with, please let me know.
As you go about your Sunday, I hope you’ll find a little reminder of your own that you are stronger than you think and that you don’t have to carry every burden by yourself. Sometimes it’s a Bible verse. Sometimes it’s a kind word from a friend. And sometimes, it’s a little $1.79 sign from a store you didn’t even know was there.
Keep the faith, keep moving forward, and remember that you’ve got this, too.
May you have a beautiful, peaceful, and blessed Sunday.
