Frosty’s Fun Center: A Free Christmas Light Display in Granbury, Texas, Where Families Can Make Memories

When Suzanne was little, I always wanted to be able to take her to events and things that were happening during Christmas. But as a single mom, more times than not, I did not have the finances or a way to take her. So the things I would have enjoyed sharing with her, I wasn’t able to.

When I had Charlie, I wanted to make sure things were different. Yet David and I were living on one income when Charlie was small, so a lot of things were not economical enough for us to attend as a family. Which meant we missed out on a lot of things I wanted to do but I knew it wasn’t the Lords will and that was fine with me.

Fast forward today and we have the blog and we’ve been invited to many events and for that I’m grateful, thankful and blessed when I’m on Facebook and I find attractions like Frosty Fun Center which makes going down the Rabbit hole all the more fun for my family.

When I find things like Frosty Fun Center that are totally free and geared toward Christmas, I want to make sure I share them with each and every one of my friends and family. Prices and things are going up, and if we can have a little bit of time to get away from the hustle and bustle, put down our phones, and spend time with our families, then that’s where I believe the Lord is leading me to share on GreatfulMoments.com. Which is why you will find them inside our Christmas Gift Guide/ Wish List and sharing it with Santa.

That’s why I’d like to take this time to introduce you to a family who has opened their property and created Frosty Fun Center for us in Granbury, Texas. According to Frosty Fun Center, this family-owned Christmas attraction is being shared as a gift to the community. They describe it as Granbury’s largest Christmas light display, with an indoor and outdoor walk-through experience that is always 100% free.

Let that sink in for a moment. No admission tickets. No entrance fee. A family has put its time, effort, and resources into creating a place where other families can enjoy Christmas together without having to pay to walk through the display. So lets take the time to thank them.

When I think about how expensive holiday activities can be, I appreciate the idea behind this. Christmas should be about more than how much money we can spend. Sometimes, the memories we make while walking around looking at lights, laughing with our children, and taking pictures together are the things we remember long after the decorations are put away.

And I am looking forward to meeting the family behind Frosty Fun Center and seeing what they have created for themselves and the community. In the meantime if you plan on visiting you will be able to see Christmas Lights, Giant Reindeer, and so much more.

Frosty Fun Center has an indoor and outdoor Christmas walk-through spread across five acres. That will defiantly allow me to get my steps in. The family describes an outdoor display with more than 200 Christmas decorations and features, along with a large collection of indoor decorations.

Here are some of the details they have shared:

  • More than 400,000 Christmas lights.
  • Two 30-foot evergreen Christmas trees.
  • Two giant wooden reindeer, each 22 feet tall and weighing more than 600 pounds, which the family says have been confirmed by Guinness.
  • More than 500 indoor decorations.
  • More than 200 outdoor Christmas decorations and features.
  • Inflatables, wooden yard art, blow molds, a life-size Christmas car, and selfie stations.
  • A children’s play area with interactive games.

There should be plenty of opportunities for families to walk around, look at the decorations, and take pictures together. I can already imagine parents trying to get everyone to stand still long enough for one good family photograph! Of course, I haven’t walked through the display yet, so I will save my own impressions until we visit. For now, I wanted to share what the family has told us so you can begin thinking about whether this might be a Christmas outing for your family.

One of the things that caught my attention is the cozy A-frame building at Frosty Fun Center. The bottom floor is decorated in a Scandinavian style, reflecting the family’s heritage. Visitors can explore the indoor area and learn about Yuletide traditions from around the world, blended with American Christmas customs. Making this a fun #Homeschool lesson.

The family describes this as the self-guided portion of the experience. I love the idea of including traditions from different places because Christmas is celebrated in so many ways. It’s a chance to enjoy the decorations while also learning a little about how other people celebrate the season. When we visit, I look forward to seeing this part of the attraction and learning more about the traditions the family has included.

Families planning a visit may also want to mark Saturday, December 12, 2026, on their calendars: Frosty Fun Center has announced a special evening with Santa from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. The announcement says children will have an opportunity to visit Santa, with the giant wooden reindeer as part of the Christmas fun. Doesn’t that sound like a lot of fun?

Parents are encouraged to bring their cameras to take pictures. Admission remains free, although tips for Santa are encouraged. If your family enjoys taking Christmas pictures, this may be a fun opportunity to get some seasonal photographs without paying admission to the attraction. Check the official Facebook page before leaving home in case details change.

Here is something else that I thought was fun. Frosty Fun Center has also announced its first annual Christmas Bake-Off for Sunday, December 13, 2026, from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. There is one important detail to remember: this is a private event, and the park will be closed to the general public that evening. The event is for contestants and their families.

The announcement describes 25 contestant spots, free entry, five judges who will score the desserts, and cash prizes for the top three contestants. Those attending will also have an opportunity to sample desserts after the results are announced.

Anyone interested in participating should contact Frosty Fun Center through its official Facebook page to ask about available spots and entry details. Even though the event isn’t a regular public visiting night, I wanted to mention it because it is another way this family is bringing people together around Christmas.

I also want to mention something for my friends and family who live here in North Richland Hills and other parts of the DFW area. Granbury isn’t right around the corner for us. According to Bing Maps, the drive from North Richland Hills to Granbury is about 48.7 miles and approximately 55 minutes in light traffic, traveling via TX-121 South and US-377 South. And that’s with light traffic! During the Christmas season, we all know traffic can sometimes take longer than we planned. The route also lists a toll, so you may want to check your directions before leaving.

Even though admission to Frosty Fun Center is completely free, you may still want to plan ahead for the drive. I would consider packing some snacks and drinks for the family before heading out, especially if you have children who get hungry along the way. That way, you aren’t starting your Christmas outing with everyone asking when we’re going to eat!

For our family, finding something free to do together is a blessing, particularly with the cost of everything going up. But I also know that gas, food, and the drive itself are part of planning a family outing. A little preparation can help make the evening more enjoyable and keep those extra expenses under control.

Check your directions before leaving, allow extra time for traffic, and pack what your family may need. You can also contact Frosty Fun Center to confirm details such as parking, restrooms, stroller access, and food policies before making the trip. Because being prepared is the best way to enjoy a event.

As I get older, I realize more and more that time together is something we shouldn’t take for granted. I think about the things I wanted to do with Suzanne when she was little and couldn’t afford, and I think about the choices David and I had to make while raising Charlie on one income.

Those memories are part of why I enjoy sharing family activities that don’t require a big admission fee. Not every family has extra money to spend on Christmas attractions, and I don’t want anyone to feel like they have to spend a fortune to make the holidays special.

Frosty Fun Center sounds like a place created with that same spirit of giving something back to the community. A family has put together a Christmas experience and is opening it to others without charging admission. We are planning to meet the family and walk through the attraction ourselves, and I look forward to learning more about the people behind it and seeing the decorations in person. After our visit, I’ll be able to share our own experience with you.

Until then, if you’re looking for a Christmas outing in the Granbury area, put Frosty Fun Center on your list, check the public visiting dates, and make a plan to spend a little time together. Because sometimes the best Christmas gift isn’t something wrapped in a box. Sometimes it’s a memory we make with the people we love.

And those are the moments I want to keep sharing here on GreatfulMoments.com. Grateful, Thankful, and Blessed.
