Field Trips: Black’s BBQ – Lockhart, TX
In my family all three of us love BBQ and could eat it every day of the week. Although, we’ve been having trouble finding a BBQ Restaurants we all like. Each of us has our favorite. With school starting soon and Charlie taking a cooking class. I thought we might take a Field Trip or Road Trip and check out Black’s BBQ.
Black’s BBQ is located in Lockhart, Texas which is 3 hours from Fort Worth. If we leave early in the morning we could visit Cities along the way and end up in Lockhart, Tx for lunch. Then walk around visiting this new Town before we head back to Fort Worth.
The “Original Black’s Barbecue” opened in 1932. Now 4 generations of the Edgar Black family later , the Original Black’s in Lockhart is the oldest BBQ joint in Texas, always owned by the same family!
Named a “Top 50 in Texas BBQ Joint” by the Texas Monthly magazine, the Original Black’s BBQ continues to serve generations of Texans.
