AirLock Digital Tire Gauge: A Little Gift That Gives This Mom Peace of Mind

Disclosure: I received this product for consideration. All opinions are my own.

Charlie is driving full time and I had a list of Gifts I wanted to get him for the car including having his windows re-tinted and a gps device but Charlie doesn’t want any of them. Again all he says he wants is money for his game but with his Birthday 9 days before Christmas then Christmas I want physical gifts Charlie can open and will actually use not set aside and they still be there next Christmas. Which is why you will find these Gifts inside our Interactive Christmas Gift Guide/ Wish List for the drivers in my family.

When Santa Claus is busy loading the sleigh this year, I have a feeling that Charlie is going to have a few practical things showing up under the Christmas tree. Including a Tire Gauge because his tires have been going down more and more and we can’t afford new tires. Now, I know what you’re thinking. A tire gauge? For Christmas? Well, yes! And before you think I’ve completely lost my mind, let me explain.

As a mom, once your child starts driving, you start thinking about things you never had to think about quite so much before. Is the gas tank full? Is the oil okay? Does he have a flashlight? Does he have jumper cables? And, of course… Are his tires okay? That’s why I was excited to receive SmartSpair Ultra Flat Tire Kit from Slime.

I believe this is something Every Driver Should Have and with it I believe they should have AirLock Digital Tire Gauge which measures tire pressure from 5 to 150 PSI. That’s a pretty wide range, which means this isn’t just some little gadget that you use once and throw in the junk drawer. It’s a useful tool to keep in the vehicle.

And I really like the idea of Charlie having one in his car because checking tire pressure is one of those little maintenance jobs that can be easy to overlook. You don’t have to wait until a tire looks low. You can actually check it. That’s important because tires can lose air gradually, and sometimes you don’t realize there’s a problem until you’re already driving.

Charlie isn’t little anymore. He’s grown, he’s driving, and Mom isn’t sitting beside him every time he gets behind the wheel. That means I want him to have the tools he needs to take care of his car. I think there’s something to be said for teaching our kids—and even our grown kids—that taking care of a vehicle isn’t just about putting gas in it and getting where you’re going.

You need to pay attention to the tires, too. Having a SmartSpair Ultra Flat Tire Kit and a digital AirLock Digital Tire Gauge in the car gives Charlie a simple way to take care of his tire pressure whenever he needs to. And let’s be honest… I’d rather he spend a couple of minutes checking his tires than spend hours sitting beside the road with a flat tire.

Mom logic. It may not always be exciting, but it makes sense. One of the things I like about the AirLock Digital Tire Gauge is that it’s digital. I don’t know about you, but sometimes the simplest tools are the ones I appreciate the most. With a digital readout, you’re getting an actual number instead of trying to decide exactly where the little needle is pointing.

You can check the tire and know what the pressure is. Then you can compare that number with the recommended tire pressure for the vehicle. That’s something I think makes this especially useful for someone who is learning more about taking care of their own car.

This is where I think Santa needs to start paying attention. I received the Smart Spair Plus Flat Tire Repair Kit, and now I’m thinking these two products really belong together. The Smart Spair Plus is there for an emergency flat tire. The AirLock Digital Tire Gauge is there for checking your tires before you have that emergency.

One helps you be prepared when something goes wrong. The other helps you keep an eye on things before they get to that point. And if Santa really wants to make a practical little car-care package for Charlie, I’d put both of them together. Of course, if Santa is going to bring the Smart Spair Plus, he also needs to remember the replacement sealant.

One 14-ounce can of the Thru-Core emergency sealant is intended for one tire, so I’d definitely want an extra refill on hand rather than assuming one can will take care of multiple flat tires. That’s the kind of thing Mom thinks about. And here’s where my Christmas shopping starts getting out of control.

Because once I started thinking about having a tire gauge in Charlie’s car, I realized there are several other people I’d like to have one, too. David could keep one in the truck. Gerald could use one. My sister drives back and forth to the hospital, and especially when winter weather arrives, I’d feel better knowing she has some basic emergency supplies in her vehicle.

My mother-in-law? Yep. I’d probably put one in her car, too. Apparently, I didn’t find a Christmas gift for Charlie. I found a Christmas gift for half the family. I also think this is one of those gifts that works really well as a stocking stuffer. It’s not necessarily the thing a teenager or young adult is going to circle in a Christmas catalog and say, “Oh, Mom! I hope Santa brings me items to take care of my tires with!” But once they have it, they’ll probably realize how useful it is.

And that’s one of my favorite kinds of gifts. The things that make life a little easier. The things you can keep in the car. The things you hope you never need but are glad you have when you do. For me, this isn’t really about getting Charlie a flat tire kit and a tire gauge for Christmas. It’s about giving my son another little tool that helps him take care of himself. Because eventually, Mom has to stop being the person who handles everything.

And while I’m not quite ready to admit I don’t need to worry about him anymore, having him prepared for some of the ordinary things that can happen while driving does make me feel a little better. A flat tire doesn’t care whether it’s Christmas morning, midnight, raining, or freezing outside. It just happens.

And when it does, I’d rather Charlie have some basic tools in his car and know how to use them. So yes… Santa Claus, please put SmartSpair Ultra Flat Tire Kit and AirLock Digital Tire Gauge in Charlie’s stocking this year. And since I know David is going to see it and want one for the truck, and Gerald will probably want one, and my sister and mother-in-law could use one… You might want to bring a few extras.

Because apparently Mom’s Christmas shopping list just got a whole lot longer. And honestly, Santa… While you’re loading those practical gifts into the sleigh, go ahead and keep one for yourself. You never know when you’re going to need to check the tires on that sleigh. After all, I don’t think Rudolph is going to be very happy about pulling it if one of those tires is low!

SmartSpair Ultra Flat Tire Kit and AirLock Digital Tire Gauge are the kind of practical gift that may not sound exciting at first, but for someone who drives, I think it’s worth having. With its 5–150 PSI digital pressure range, it’s a simple tool that can help drivers keep an eye on their tire pressure and be a little more proactive about vehicle maintenance.

If I’m going to worry about my son when he’s out driving, I’d at least like to know I’ve helped him put a few useful tools in the trunk. And that’s exactly what Christmas gifts from Mom are supposed to do sometimes. Give them something they may not know they need yet—but will be glad they have when they need it.

Grateful. Thankful. Blessed.
