Come Hell or High Water, Things Are Changing Today!

Before I even crawled out of bed this morning the drama had started. David was supposed to have left my paypal card so Charlie could get gas and go do Instacart with Joseph. Because Charlie has finally come to terms that Bradley isn’t going to do the things he needs to do. Halljaer as Madea would say..

I got up and called and asked David about the paypal card and he said you didn’t ask me to leave it. We talked about it last night so yes I did. David’s like I will turn around and bring it back to you. I didn’t say anything I just hung up the phone and turned on Blue Sky since it was only 4am.

I went downstairs at 5 and David is sitting in his chair because he had to bring the paypal card home and decided he couldn’t go back to work. Is that my fault honestly I don’t know and I just don’t have time to deal with stupid people. I came back upstairs and began to work.

Then I stopped to go get a drink and a snack before I got to busy and forgot to eat and ended up with a headache. I expect David to be in the kitchen napping or watching TV and he had left to go do Plasma which I’m grateful for. Instead of telling me I find out by accident then the phone rings and he says if you look for me I’m at the Plams Office. Well duh BUTTERCUP I found that out on my one.

I came back upstairs after not getting the dogs to listen to me and sat down at my computer. I looked around and was so upset that the room David had cleaned is a mess that I wanted to scream not only at myself but my family. Instead I decided I needed to have a meeting with myself. Welcome to My Tuesday Morning Come-to-Jesus Meeting With Myself

Dear Lord, it’s Tuesday morning, and my mind is already going overdraft.

I’m thinking about three new series because apparently building series over the weekend wasn’t enough. My brain is going a hundred miles an hour, and I’ve got a whole passel of things sitting here waiting for me to reviews, post to write and a dog to wrangle so she doesn’t eat stuff.

David is gone and Charlie is sleeping when he’s supposed to be up doing Instacart, and we were supposed to go get donuts. But you know what? That’s on them. I’m not worrying about it. I’m not dog sitting if Sandy messes something up that’s on them. They don’t pay me to dog sit so I need to figure out how to make money on my own so that’s blogging not dealing with anyone else stuff.

I’ve decided I moved from TheMommiesReviews.com because I wanted to grow and I can’t do that if I have to deal with everyone’s stuff. Buttercup I’ve got a blog to grow, and I can’t grow it if I’m too busy managing everybody lives because it doesn’t leave time for me or the things I need to do.

So, let me make something perfectly clear. Starting today, my door closes at 8:00 a.m. and it ain’t opening until 5:00 p.m. If you need me, take a number. Call me at 5:01, and I might respond. Then again, I might be taking a break with a glass of tea. Lord only knows, because it’s Tuesday morning, and I’ve got work to do!

I have posts to write, ideas to organize, totes to find, and Greatful Moments to grow. I’ve got plans, dreams, and things I want to accomplish. And I’m tired of putting my work aside because somebody else hasn’t taken care of their own responsibilities. I love my family, but loving somebody doesn’t mean I have to manage every single thing for them.

I am a wife, a mom, and a woman with my own dreams. I am not everybody else’s personal assistant. Move over, buttercup! I ain’t got time to deal with stupid today. Move over, get the hell out of my way, because I’ve got things to do! If you need Coffee or Hot Chcolate make it yourself.

If you’re supposed to get up and go to work, then get up and go to work. If you’re responsible for something, handle your business. And if you don’t do what you’re supposed to do and there are consequences, then you need to figure out how to handle those consequences.

The car gets impounded? That’s something you’ll have to deal with. I’m not going to spend my entire day worrying about what everybody else might do, what they forgot, what they didn’t plan for, or how they’re going to fix it. I’ve got my own responsibilities.

I HAVE MY OWN SHIT TO DO! I’m not the family alarm clock, the reminder service, the transportation coordinator, and the cleanup crew for everybody else’s decisions. I’m Glenda Cates, and I’ve got Greatful Moments to build and the only person I’m responsible for is myself and Pheobie.

If you want to come along for the ride, put on your big girl panties and buckle up because its going to be a bumpy ride If you don’t, then move over, because I’m not stopping the car every five minutes. I’m getting in Lightning McQueen’s car, and Dolly and Rosie are coming with me. We’re going to take this blogging world by storm! And if we don’t conquer the entire world, we’ll at least conquer our little corner of it.

And before somebody gets upset about my language… Let me get this out of the way, too. I know the Lord may look down on someone who cusses, but you know what? I’m a mom. I get frustrated. I get tired. I get overwhelmed. And sometimes I cuss a little. I’m human.

I love the Lord. My faith matters to me. I believe in prayer, grace, forgiveness, and trying to do better every day. But I’m not going to pretend I’m sweet as pie every minute of every day just to make somebody else comfortable. Sometimes life gets frustrating. Sometimes you need to let out a little steam. And sometimes a few choice words are going to find their way into the conversation.

If you don’t like it, honey, this might not be the site for you. Greatful Moments is where I share my life, my faith, my family, my laughter, my frustrations, and the lessons I’m still learning along the way. I’m not here to put on a show. I’m not here to pretend my life is perfect. And I’m certainly not going to sugarcoat everything today.

If you’re looking for somebody who has it all together every minute of every day, you might want to keep looking. Because today, you’re getting Glenda. The real Glenda. Grateful, thankful, blessed, occasionally frustrated, and sometimes a little foul-mouthed. And that’s all right.

This is about me, myself, and I. Now, here’s the part I really need to remember. This isn’t about pleasing everybody who reads this post. It isn’t about getting everybody to agree with me. And it isn’t about asking permission to make changes in my own life. This is about holding myself accountable.

I can sit here and talk about growing Greatful Moments, creating new series, writing more, and building something meaningful. I can dream up a hundred new ideas before breakfast. But at some point, I have to stop talking about what I want to do and start doing the work.

That’s what changes today. I’m not waiting for everybody else to get organized before I get started. I’m not waiting for the perfect day, the perfect schedule, or the perfect circumstances. I’m starting with what I have, right where I am. And I’m putting this out into the world because I want to remember how I felt this morning.

I want to remember that I was tired of pushing my own plans aside. I was tired of letting interruptions eat up my time. And I was ready to make a change. Not tomorrow. Not next Monday. TODAY. My time matters, too. My dreams matter, too. And the work I’ve put my heart into deserves my attention.

I don’t need to apologize for wanting to accomplish something. I don’t need to feel guilty for having a workday. And I don’t have to be available to everybody every minute of the day. I can love people without taking responsibility for every decision they make. I can help when I choose to help without making myself responsible for fixing everything. And I can close my door, sit down at my desk, and get to work.

Lord, this day belongs to You. As I sit here on this beautiful Tuesday morning in Fort Worth, Texas, I look outside and see a clear sky. The birds are singing, the dogs are sleeping, and I’m working. Thank You, Lord, for another day and another opportunity to do something with the gifts You’ve given me.

Help me stay focused. Give me wisdom about where to spend my time. Help me know when to offer a hand and when to let someone else take responsibility. Bless the work of my hands and the words I put out into the world through Greatful Moments. Help me grow this little corner of the blogging world into something meaningful.

Let me tell stories, share experiences, encourage others, and keep doing the work You’ve placed on my heart. And when I get distracted by another idea, remind me to write it down and return to what I’m doing. When somebody interrupts my plans, help me remember the boundaries I’ve set. And when I start feeling guilty for taking time to work on my own dreams, remind me that my life matters, too.

I’m getting into that Lightning McQueen car with Dolly and Rosie, and we’re going to see where this road takes us. I’m claiming this day in the Lord’s name, trusting Him with what I cannot control, and taking responsibility for what I can. Because I don’t have to do everything today. But I do have to start.

So, here’s the deal, buttercup. The door closes at 8:00 a.m. It opens again at 5:00 p.m. I’ve got work to do, a blog to grow, and a whole lot of life left to live. If you need me, take a number. If you don’t like my language, you don’t have to read my posts. If you don’t agree with my decisions, that’s your business. And if you’re ready to come along for the ride, put on your big girl panties and buckle up!

Because come hell or high water, things are changing today. I’m not asking permission. I’m not waiting for applause. And I’m not spending the day worrying about what anybody thinks. I’m showing up for myself, my dreams, and Greatful Moments. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’ve got a blogging world to conquer. Lord willing, of course.

Grateful, Thankful, and Blessed.
