Most mornings I get up and begin to work while David is working and Charlie is sleeping. Sometimes I will make me a cup of Coffee and other times I just go right to work because I know on Wednesday David will be off and he will pick up Donuts for Charlie and I and I will make Coffee for each of us.
Even though we have what seems like a million coffee mugs in our home there are three that we know will always be used and its because they was not only bought with love but because of the messages on the Coffee Cups. 2 of them I bought for David but like anything in this house if Charlie wants it more times than not it becomes his and this is what happened with one of the Coffee Cups.
Now, I would like to share the coffee cups that mean the most to me but if these coffee mugs in our house could talk, they’d have a few stories to tell. And knowing my family, some of those stories would probably make you laugh, while others might bring a tear to your eye.
You see, around our house, a coffee mug isn’t always just a coffee mug. Sometimes it starts with a joke. Sometimes it’s a reminder that somebody is there for you. And sometimes it’s a way of telling someone something they might not hear often enough Or it just might be a cup to hold pens because a coffee cup in our home isn’t always a Coffee Cup.
In the last couple years Charlie began to drink Hot Chocolate with me and now he’s added Coffee to what he drinks so for Christmas one year I bought him Wrappiness Personalized To My Son Coffee Mug – Personalized Ceramic Mug with Sentimental Quote from Mom, to remind him that no matter what he does he is mine and he can’t change it even if he wanted to which I’m sure he has wanted to at times.

Isn’t that how family memories sometimes work? You buy something for one person, and years later, somebody else adopts it. Before you know it, an ordinary object has become part of your family’s story. Come along and let me share 3 of the Coffee Mugs that mean the most to my family. Then come share your favorite coffee mug with us.
Charlie bought me a pink mug because he knows pink is a favorite color for both of us. It Not only that pink was also Suzzane’s favorite color. But it wasn’t just about the color. Charlie wanted me to know that no matter what happens, he’s here for me. Even when were upset with each other.
As a mom, I don’t know how you put a price on a gift like that. Sometimes the things our children give us mean so much more than they could ever realize. It’s the message behind the gift that stays with us. Here is the mug At Least You Don’t Have Ugly Children, Funny Mom Cup, Funny Mom Mugs, Gifts Mothers Will Actually Use, 11 oz Ceramic Coffee Mug, Sarcastic Gag Gift for Birthday Charlie got me and it’s true isn’t it?

Then there’s this mug I bought for David and its the Pavilion Gift Company – Husband The Legend – Ceramic 13-ounce Campfire Mug, Double Sided Coffee Cup, Coffee Mugs for Guys,. When David was a baby he had Scarlet fever when he was a baby, and growing up, he didn’t always receive the kindness and understanding from his parents that a child deserves. His childhood experiences stayed with me, and I wanted him to have a reminder of something important.
No matter what anybody else thought of him, I love him. I respect him. And I am proud of him. I wanted him to know that I saw the good in him, that I appreciated the man he was, and that somebody believed in him. Sometimes we assume the people we love already know how we feel. But I think it’s important to tell them, too. We all need reminders that we’re loved, that we’re valued, and that we matter. And if a coffee mug can deliver that reminder every morning, then it’s doing a whole lot more than holding coffee.

These three mugs have different meanings in our family. They may make us laugh, or they may remind us of the love between a mother and her son, and one is to remind David he is a legend to Charlie and I. Reminding David how much he means to me, Charlie and the dogs.
That’s what I love about gifts with a personal connection. They don’t have to be expensive, and they don’t have to be fancy. Sometimes the smallest things carry the biggest messages. So the next time you’re shopping for a coffee lover, you might consider a mug with a sentimental message, a little humor, or words that remind somebody how much they mean to you. And if you already have a favorite mug at home, maybe there’s a story behind it, too.
Do you have a coffee mug that means more to you than just a place to pour your coffee? I’d love to hear the story behind it.
