The Mommies Reviews

Childhood friends and suicide

I let home yesterday morning to go walking with my sister. I wasn’t thinking that when I returned home a childhood friend would have killed himself. Its so so sad as this past week when I was on Facebook another friend posted about dealing with Cancer. I’ve been blessed to have remained in contact with a lot of friends from school.

Seeing them suffer is so hard. Knowing one of my friends took his own life by shooting himself is unthinkable. His daughter and him had just reconnected and he left her behind which is unthinkable. Especially when 2 of my friends at the end of last year buried there daughters just as I have mine. I would give anything to be able to hug Suzzane one more time. I can’t even imagine how my friends daughter felt knowing her dad killed himself.

I don’t know what I could have done to change things especially when my friend was in another State away from all of his friends. But what I can do is hug my family a little bit tighter. Make it a point to spend time with the friends I do have her. Even the ones who are out of State through Facebook and YouTube and remind them that no, matter how bleak things may be I am here for them no, matter the time of day or night.

Rest in PEACE my friend.
We will see each other again.

Thank you,
