Charlie has been asking if he can dye his hair blue

As a parent, I have learned we need to pick our battles if something isn’t going to hurt our children and they really want to do something I try and let them do what they want. For Charlie, he has been asking if he can dye his hair blue so the other day I picked up a box of hair dye from Walmarts then I came home to dye his hair for him.

Because its only hair and it will go back to normal right?

I sat down and read through the instructions Charlie’s hair is brown with a touch of red the instructions said I would need to bleach his hair blond then dye it blue. I had to let Charlie know I wasn’t comfortable doing that so he asked his sister Les to help him and she said no because she was afraid his hair would turn green.

Charlie surprised me as he said that would be okay as he likes green and just wanted his hair a different color. Since we had died it red in the past I asked if we could do that again and Charlie said no, blue only blue. This week if David has the extra money I plan on taking Charlie to a Salon and seeing what they say about dying Charlies tips blue as he has decided if they will do that he will not do his whole head.

In the meantime, I found some Purple Hair Spray at Walmarts so Charlie asked me to dye his hair and I did because it would wash right out. Once I was done we waited for David to come home because he wasn’t to keen on Charlie dying his hair. Although once he got home he didn’t say too much about other than if we were going anywhere he would need to wash his hair.

I reminded David to pick his battles and if Charlie wanted to go out with his hair purple we would let him as it wasn’t any worse than the Mullet or his Mohawk he had in the past. I went to work on the computer and a little while late David walked up and let me know I was right we should pick out battles.

Thank you,
