I actually able to get David the purchase the Blackstone grill forever and a day. Because we found it on sale at Walmart. We brought it home and it had been sitting under a trashcan because David hadn’t been able to put it together.
But he was off last Wednesday and was able to put the Blackston Grill together. He thought he was going to need Charlie’s help but he wouldn’t get out of bed so David did it on his own.
It didn’t take David long at all to get the Grill up and ready to use. We just had to put water on it and wait for it to dry before we could cook. Not being a patient person I didn’t want to wait.
I was hungry… Then it dried off and David was ready to cook! We had Pork Chops the night before and no, one wanted Chicken. I finally said I wanted a Steak so we headed to Winco because they are the cheapest on Steaks.
We got home David turned the Blackstone while I seasoned the Steaks with Lawry’s Seasoning and Kinder’s the Blend. I wrapped the Potato’s in tin foil and placed them in the oven.
I bet we could have cooked them on the Blackstone but not knowing much about it was easier cooking them in the stove. Before we cook Baked Potato’s he next time I will research and see how to cook them on the Blackstone so we can see how they taste.
David cooked his Steak rare which didn’t take long to get done. Charlie and mine was medium well and I love how juicy the Steaks were. It also sealed in the seasonings perfectly. Gerald’s was medium well and it didn’t become tough. Gerald was able to eat it without any problems at all.
Along with the Steak & Baked Potato’s I cooked a can of Ranch Style Beans in the microwave but I want to look up and see if you could warm them on the Blackstone the next time we cook out. .
Learning the Blackstone and trying to get dinner done in a hurry I tried to keep things as simple as possible. And that’s what I like about this meal. It wasn’t anything fancy. We had steak, baked potatoes and ranch style beans. It was a good, filling family meal.
I love how David got a chance to practice on his grill before we try and cook for anyone. And now he’s ready for the next adventure. What will David cook next? Honestly, I have no idea!
I have some ideas, but when David gets behind that Blackstone, you never quite know what he’s going to decide to make. So we’ll just say there’s another meal coming. Be watching for future meals prepared on our Blackstone as David continues experimenting, learning and figuring out just how much he can cook on that grill.
Because this Blackstone isn’t just going to sit outside looking pretty. David is ready to cook! And we’re ready to see what he comes up with next. Stay tuned for the next Blackstone meal from our kitchen—or should we say, our backyard kitchen?
Thank you,
Glenda, Charlie and David Cates
