Greatful Moments A Snack for Santa? Southern Recipe Small Batch Pork Rinds Arrived! -

I am so happy to let you know our Christmas Gift Guide/ Wish List is filling up nicely. Today. I wanted to bring you a fun snack that you might want to check out for your family—and maybe even put on your Christmas shopping list.

Because let’s be honest. My family would like to help Santa out this year as he is preparing for his Trip around the world getting ready to deliver presents all over the United States, he might get a little tired of cookies. Maybe Santa would like something different this year!

When I’m helping Santa pack his sleigh, I think I might have to tuck a bag or two of Southern Recipe Small Batch Pork Rinds inside so he can see what he thinks. And I have to tell you, there are some pretty interesting flavors in this box!

What Just Arrived?: Yesterday, our Southern Recipe Small Batch pork rinds arrived, and I haven’t opened the bags yet because I wanted to show you what David and my mother in law are going to be trying first. Unfortunately I will not be able to try them because most of the flavors seem like they would be hot.

We received several flavors, including:

And these aren’t just bags of pork rinds. Each one has something fun on the back—a recipe using the pork rinds! That definitely caught my attention. The recipes take me back to when Charlie was #Homeschooling and he liked to create new and unusual recipes. I can’t wait to see if he wants to do that again.

The Spicy Dill flavor has a recipe for Southern Recipe Fried Green Tomatoes. The Hot Honey flavor includes a recipe for Pork Rind Granola. The Pineapple & Ancho Chili flavor has a recipe for Elote Street Corn.

And then there is the Korean Barbecue flavor. David is going to want to hear about this one because the recipe on the back is for stuffed mushrooms made with Korean barbecue pork rinds, cream cheese, crab meat, garlic, oregano and paprika. That sounds like something we may have to try!

The Sea Salt & Cracked Black Pepper flavor has a recipe for Loaded Mashed Cauliflower, which sounds like a fun way to add some crunch to a side dish. So we’re going to have more than just taste-testing ahead of us.

Now, if I could choose what Santa or David and Charlie were to brings me some Pork Rinds, I already know what I would ask for. The original pork rinds. Those would definitely be mine! Or perhaps the hot pork rinds, because m y mother in law loves chicharrones and pork skins but she likes them spicy.

Years ago, when Annie our Black Lab was around, she and I would keep a container of chicharrones or pork skins on my desk, and somehow Annie always knew when snack time was happening. She was my little pork-skin-eating buddy! So when I saw this box arrive, it brought back some happy memories.

There are several flavors here that have some heat, so we’ll have to see which ones everyone likes best. I’m also paying attention to the nutrition information because when we’re choosing snacks for our family, those details matter.

The Spicy Dill and Sea Salt & Cracked Black Pepper varieties are labeled gluten-free, and the Spicy Dill bag lists 0 grams of total carbohydrates per serving. We’ll be looking at each flavor more closely once we open the bags.

I’m already thinking these could be a fun addition to our GreatfulMoments Christmas Gift Guide. What do you think? They’re something a little different and they’re easy to tuck into a gift basket or stocking. And because there are so many flavors, you could put together a little pork-rind tasting gift for someone who enjoys trying new snacks.

I also like that the bags include recipes. That gives the person receiving them something else to do with the product besides opening the bag and eating them. Although, let’s be honest… Sometimes opening the bag and eating them is exactly what you want to do!

But First… We Have to Taste Them! These arrived yesterday, and I haven’t opened any of the bags yet. So today isn’t our official review. This is simply a little peek at what has arrived at GreatfulMoments.com. We’ll be opening the bags, trying the flavors, checking out the recipes and seeing which ones our family enjoys.

And when Christmas gets closer, maybe we’ll even have to decide which flavors deserve a spot in Santa’s sleigh. Because Santa might appreciate a little variety. Cookies are wonderful. But every now and then, even Santa might want something with a really good crunch!

Now, if you’ll excuse me, I need to keep an eye on this box before the dogs decide they’ve found Santa’s snack stash or David.
