A Selena Christmas Eve Movie Night: Cookies, Milk, Music, and Memories

Christmas in our home changes from year to year because a lot of times David is working and its only Charlie and I at home. This year with David working I wanted to do something new for Charlie and I. Instead of him being on his game and me in my room I’ve decided to surprise Charlie with a Selena Christmas Eve Movie Night: Cookies, Milk, music, and memories and we can call Mikalyai and invite her and her mom Michelle to watch the movie with us from there home so we can celebrate Christmas together. Would you like to join us.

As Santa is loading up the sleigh this year, our family will be settling in for one of our favorite Christmas Eve traditions and I can ask him to make sure you have some Selena items in your home to celebrate her with us. Including the movie and a book to red to your family.

In the past on Christmas Eve, when Charlie was little we would sit down as a family and watch a movie that has meant something special to us throughout the years. It’s one of those traditions that gives us a chance to slow down, enjoy being together, and remember the memories we’ve made along the way.

This year, I think we’re going to do something a little different. We’re hosting a Selena movie night right here in my home! Although by the time Christmas arrives Charlie may have a new favorite movie he would prefer to watch and that is okay because we can watch both movies giving us even more time together which I would love to have because as Charlie gets older its hard to get time with just him.

While I was online I found a few Selena-inspired gifts for Charlie, and instead of waiting until Christmas morning to open them, we’ll save them for Christmas Eve. That gives us even more reason to celebrate a singer whose music has become such a special part of our family.

Would you like to join us for cookies and milk? And yes, I know Santa gets plenty of cookies and milk on Christmas Eve. But I have two hungry men in my home, so I’m pretty sure we’re going to need to bake plenty more cookies before anyone starts complaining!

We’re thinking about making cookies shaped like musical notes, guitars, microphones, and other musical figures. We’ll decorate them with colorful icing and make a little cookie tray to enjoy during the movie. Then we will also make sandwiches in the shape of the Cookie cutters for the hungry men in my life. We’ll have our favorite movie-night snacks, too, because cookies and milk aren’t going to keep two hungry men happy all evening!

Charlie will have a few Selena-inspired gifts to open, including a Selena coloring book, Selena-themed clothing, and of course a copy of Selena: A Little Golden Book Biography. We’ll have the movie ready, the music playing, and plenty of treats to share. It’s a Christmas Eve celebration built around music, family, and a singer who brought something special into our home.
