This morning is the perfect day for Music Class as we can study Lesley Gore who wrote It’s My Party and celebrate It’s My Party by throwing a Party this morning to celebrate all things Music. Would you like to come to mine and Charlie’s party this afternoon.
It’s My Party Day is today and let’s have a party and celebrate today. Before you ask what are we going to celebrate and the Sky’s the limit we can choose anything you want to celebrate because we don’t really need a reason to have a party? So let’s get this party started!
What a great opportunity to have some fun. It’s a party day. You can make it simple, or elaborate. Invite family and friends. Being mid-October, a Fall or Halloween theme might be the perfect party. Or how about celebrating Fire Prevention Week or National Dessert Month.
Teen star Lesley Gore sang the #1 pop music song It’s My Party in May, 1963. Lesley was just 16.
Life is too short and today is It’s My Party Day. So, let’s party all night long.
Origin of It’s My Party Day
We suspect there is some link to pop star Lesley Gore’s 1963 song It’s My Party. It’s only a hunch because we did not find any supporting documentation and the song was a #1 hit in May, 1963 (not October).
