Good morning, I thought I would share my thoughts on a new children’s book with you called The Boy Who Wanted To Rock written by David Weiser.
When Charlie was smaller he loved crawling up onto the couch and listening to music with me. Then we would get up and dance around the living room.
I miss those times but after showing Charlie The Boy Who Wanted to Rock Charlie went and got my Record Player and turned on some of my records and started dancing and asked me to join him.
I love how The Boy Who Wanted to Rock brought Charlie’s love of music back and how this book helped me get Charlie off the electronics for a little bit.
Charlie and I loved learning different musical words and Charlie has a Guitar and a Piano which he got out and tried the things they boy did. Then we played dress up just like they did and practiced the dance moves.
I hadn’t seen Charlie act like a kid in a while and just laugh and laugh freely it felt so good and brought my son back to me for a few minutes. Charlie even reminded me we can use The Boy Who Wanted to Rock in our Homeschool Music Class.
I reminded Charlie he had also done reading and drama class along with Music class and he didn’t even resize it. Then I had Charlie go through the book and pick out words for our Spelling Test this week.
Once we finished Charlie let me know he wanted to lend The Boy Who Wanted to Rock to my nephew Jason because he thought he would enjoy the story as well.

About The Author
David Weiser has worked as a keyboard programmer with numerous Broadway, West End, touring and televised musicals, including NBC’s 2018 Jesus Christ Superstar, Phantom of the Opera, Cats, and Les Misérables.
His credits also include work with artists like David Bowie, The Who, and Brian Wilson. David lives outside of Boston with his wife, son, and a few goblins hanging about in the basement.
