Welcome back to our Country Music Class: Country Music An Illustrated Music History. This morning’s Lesson/ Unit Study is lesson 3 in our Music Class.

Spelling:

Mountaineer, Timbre, England, Scotland, Harmonies, Fiddler, Banjo,

Reading: pages 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 up to the Melting Pot. Then in your reading journal write down three facts you learned.

Discussion Questions:

Who and gave John Carson his Fiddle and how old was he?

What kind of dances did he play at?

Art Class: Create a picture of something you learned this morning.

Dance Class: Look up a Square Dance and host one with your parents.

Cooking Class: Look up what John Carson and people from that time era liked to eat. Create a Recipe and if possible make one of the dishes for your parents.
