The Mommies Reviews

Ultimate Blog Challenge February 2nd, 2021

How are you? Welcome to the Ultimate Blog Challenge February 2nd, 2021. For Homeschool Charlie has a question of the day he shares on my Facebook page.

The question is called this or that. This morning’s question was Checkers or Chess? (Why).

Charlie said Checkers but he would like to learn to play Chess with his dad.

David says Chess as he used to play with his dad and brothers. David surprised me when he said he would like to teach Charlie to play Chess. Charlie even asked David when they could learn.

Now, I know what to get them for Valentines Day as we have a Music Corner were setting up in our Home and instead of just music it could be a library corner.

We could put my Record Player and Records there. A Chess Set I get them for Valentines and both Kobe books Charlie got for his Birthday and Christmas this year.

For me if I had to chose between Chess and Checkers I would chose Checkers which I have played all my life. As for Chess I don’t think I have the patience to learn to play.

I’ve seen beautiful Chess sets. I love the Horses as for the pieces Charlie could use these for Art Class or even reading class as Charlie could research who invented Chess and Checkers for school.

Thank you,

Glenda, Charlie and David Cates

My neighbor started a chess club for kids several years ago and my son really enjoyed it. I hear it is a great game to learn, but I personally like checkers.

Checkers…I don’t understand Chess at all. Ronnie likes to play both. A few months back, I watched, the Queen’s Gambit. It was a good movie about Chess. You should watch it…it’s on Netflix.

I use to love to play checkers with my grandfather. Never played chess nor anyone in the family did either. Yup, I’ll stick to checkers.
