Ready Freddy! Don’t Sit on My Lunch!

I thought I would share a new book Charlie brought home from school to read this week. The novel is called Ready, Freddy! Don’t Sit on My lunch and it is written by Abby Klein.

As soon as I saw Ready, Freddy! Don’t Sit on My lunch the novel reminded me of Charlie and his friends having lunch in the school cafeteria. I could see one of the children sitting there lunch in a chair and someone sitting on it.

Which could have led to fights but not with Charlie. I could see Charlie sharing his lunch with his friends or even giving them all of his lunch so they wouldn’t have to eat the lunch that had been sat on.

I thumbed through Ready, Freddy! Don’t Sit on My lunch and I liked seeing Charlie would be able to read Ready, Freddy! Don’t Sit on My lunch on his own without help from me.

I could even see Charlie sitting down and reading Ready, Freddy! Don’t Sit on My lunch to my niece and nephew when we go and visit them.

“I have a problem. A really, really, big problem. I want to try out for the peewee hockey team, but so does Max…”

Bullies are a problem in school, and Max Sellars is the worst one yet. In addition to hassling Freddy, Max also challenges him for the open spot on the peewee hockey team. Freddy’s close friend Jessie is a star hockey player, and she secretly teaches him some rules and tricks. In a warm and funny ending, Max and Freddy make peace with one another, and – in a surprising twist – end up becoming teammates.
