God trusts parents to be the best parent they can be…
This week Charlie, David and I were able to spend a lot of quality time as a family. As we were out and about I was amazed at how grown up Charlie is becoming. He is so compassionate and caring. No, matter where we were or what we were doing Charlie was always taking care of me and making sure I was okay. As I would walk around, I would catch him watching me at different times, and it just made me feel so proud.
Although I could tell, there was something on Charlie’s mind he didn’t want to talk about whatever it was so I left him alone because I knew Charlie would come to me when he was ready. Then on Thursday, evening Charlie announced he was ready to return to public school. As he said this, my heart was breaking, and I couldn’t believe what I was hearing.
I knew as a parent it didn’t matter what I wanted or how I felt this had to be Charlie’s choice. So I haven’t said anything else to Charlie about it as I wanted him to be sure and if we pushed Charlie, he would do what he thought we wanted not what he thinks is best for him. Then yesterday there was another shooting in a school as I listened I shared the details with Charlie and David.
I shared my concerns with Charlie, and as I did, he looked at me and said it was my choice as to what I wanted him to do. So I had to set aside my fears and let Charlie know I was okay with him returning to school. David is having trouble coming to terms with Charlie returning to school as he sees how torn I am.
This morning David returned to work and Charlie is in his room I come to the Lord with my fears and concerns and I give him Charlie and I ask for clarity and help in making the right decision not only in Charlie’s schooling but in our living situation as David is going back and forth and even though I hate to admit it all of this is affecting my health.
As much as I love Blogging and working from home if Charlie is going to return to school is it time to quit blogging? Should I get a job outside the house? Because there is one thing I know and that is staying in this house by myself well let me sink into a depression which I can’t afford to do.
Or do I muddle through and keep on blogging and find a friend that would like to learn how to blog and we build a site together? Because the one friend I thought wanted to do this hasn’t gotten back with me the way she should and now she says they may be moving. Which I am okay with as long as it is the right choice for her family. I just need someone close and dedicated to building a business just like I am or at least as I was.
Please Pray for our family and if you have suggestions or thoughts or how I can move forward Please let me know what we need to do and how we can get it done.
Thank you,
Glenda, Charlie, and David Cates
